 ## Chapter 82: The Hospitality of Yharnam's Inhabitants

Just recently, all the streamers had completed the initial storyline and encountered the werewolf gnawing on the corpse.

Most of them did the same thing—approaching and slapping the werewolf before accepting their fate.

Some cautious streamers searched the clinic for a long time and, after confirming there were no weapons, admitted the storyline required them to die. They approached, slapped the werewolf twice, and awaited death.

Many couldn't help but frown at this point, feeling that having a scripted death scene was pointless.

Was it necessary to make everyone experience the brutality of the werewolf?

Did they have to be killed right at the start? The werewolf blocked the door, making it impossible to pass without facing it.

Some tried to hunt the werewolf, scouring every corner of the clinic but finding no weapons.

Hitting the werewolf barehanded dealt minimal damage, not even scratching its health bar.

The werewolf's movements were swift; although avoidable, if it was a scripted death, any effort was futile.

“I admit the developer enjoys tormenting players, but having a scripted death at the start seems meaningless.” Many streamers sighed, considering this part a flaw.

It seemed the purpose of the player’s death here was to transport them to the Hunter's Dream.

This was just the initial assumption of the players; soon, they would realize that the initially invincible werewolf was just a low-level enemy, not even an elite.

To kill it, all one needed was a charged attack from behind, followed by a visceral attack.

The scenery in the Hunter's Dream was remarkably beautiful. When the unconscious hunter awoke, they saw gigantic, chaotic ancient trees and a Victorian-style church.

The ground was filled with crosses, and tombstones stood nearby. It looked more like a mass grave than a church.

The most striking feature was the enormous moon overhead, occupying half the sky, hundreds of times larger than usual.

Along the path lined with rubble, there was an abandoned pale doll with long silver hair and a beautiful appearance.

Stone steps spiraled upwards, leading to the church in the distance.

On the steps, the eerie skeletons from the transfusion scene reappeared, offering weapons.

“These little things are messengers?” Yinzi breathed a sigh of relief. The transfusion scene was unforgettable, with these messengers crawling on him.

Here, one could receive gifts from the messengers and choose one of three weapons.

Knowing these creatures were messengers was somewhat comforting, despite their terrifying appearance—they were just NPCs delivering items.

Moving up the steps, one could choose a main weapon and a secondary weapon.

Possibly influenced by the cover image, everyone chose the same right-hand weapon, the Saw Cleaver.

This saw could transform into a cleaver, making enemies bleed heavily. The blade was stained with blood, and the white bandages wrapped around it were filthy.

For the left hand, they chose the Hunter Pistol.

Just acquiring the weapons evoked the same bloodthirsty and dark feelings from the opening CG animation, sparking a desire to hunt.

“This game is incredible; the cover and promotional videos constantly hint at an uncontrollable hunting desire.” Yinzi marveled at the weapons in his hands.

If the initial scripted death seemed like a flaw, obtaining the Saw Cleaver ignited a hunting desire.

This time, encountering the werewolf again, it wouldn't end well for the creature.

Entering the church, dimly lit by a few candles, a hunched old man in a wheelchair sat ahead.

“Ah-ha, you must be the new hunter,” he chuckled, head lowered. “Welcome to the Hunter's Dream. This will be your home now.”

“Go kill some beasts; it's for your own good. That's what hunters do, and you'll get used to it.”

The NPC Gehrman encouraged continuous hunting with a laugh.

Books nearby documented that to escape the dream, one must defeat the nightmare's source; otherwise, the horrific hunt would endlessly repeat.

Yinzi wandered the Hunter's Dream, interacting with everything, meticulously exploring every detail.

“This place has a strange beauty!” A faint mist enveloped the Hunter's Dream.

‘Ah! For some reason, the sight of that enormous moon above fills me with primal fear!’

‘A massive moon plus a Saw Cleaver—utter madness!’

‘It feels like an ancient Cthulhu god is about to descend!’

‘The atmosphere is perfect; I can't wait for the developer to make a horror game…’

With weapons in hand, we left the Hunter's Dream.

In the center of Yharnam, there was a house with a lit lamp. Like us, the occupant was an outsider, too sick to stand.

Here, he told us,

“The people of Yharnam… have a unique way of treating guests.”

“This city is cursed.”

“No matter why you came here, you should find a way to leave.”

Before ending the conversation, he warned us to beware of the residents, who believed outsiders brought disaster, thus treating them uniquely.

Tonight was the Yharnamites' hunt.

Yinzi walked down the right path, observing the city. Everywhere were towering spire buildings, with roofs and carvings characteristic of the era.

The city was gloomy, filled with black iron and red blood.

Before long, a Yharnamite wielding an axe charged at us, eyes cold, filled only with the intent to kill.

Yharnam was famous for its blood healing, reputed to cure all ailments, making it a renowned city. Contrary to its reputation, a terrible beast scourge was unfolding here.

Yharnamites wouldn’t share much with outsiders, blaming them for the city's plight.

Seeing the Yharnamites swarming with various weapons, Yinzi instinctively stepped back with his character.

He swallowed, “The people of Yharnam are indeed hospitable—”
