ROSGT Chapter 7: Please Accept My Knees First!

“The download count has reached three million!”

By the evening, when Ye Chui checked the Software Alliance forum again, he discovered that Link-Up had been downloaded over three million times.

This meant Ye Chui's account now had thirty thousand yuan!

At this rate, Link-Up could very likely surpass the current number one software on the Software Alliance, becoming the top download!

The number one software had achieved its status after its creator released several other hit software, gaining fame before creating the record-breaking software. But Ye Chui was a complete newcomer, registering and posting for the first time and already achieving such success—it was nothing short of a miracle.

In fact, the name "Professor X" had become famous on the Software Alliance.

He was called "X Bro" or "X God."

Along with Professor X, the term “game” also became popular. For the first time, games were associated with optical brains, and people started referring to entertaining software as games. But so far, the only game was Link-Up.

However, Ye Chui had already planted a magical seed.

This technologically advanced yet entertainment-deprived world was beginning to change subtly, and Ye Chui stood at the forefront of these changes!

Sitting in front of his optical brain, Ye Chui happily browsed the posts for a while before opening the forum’s backend. He was stunned to see over a thousand messages!

It was no wonder; the impact of Link-Up had been massive. Usually, developers would set up message filters for software that reached millions of downloads in the first day, but Ye Chui, being a complete novice, hadn't thought of that. The sudden influx of over a thousand messages almost crashed his optical brain. It took a while for the system to recover.

Feeling a mix of emotions, Ye Chui quickly adjusted the settings to limit message notifications before starting to browse the messages.

"Professor X, please take me as your disciple. I’m good at serving tea, washing feet, and warming beds!"

"Hello, Professor X. I’m a manager from the development department of XX Optical Brain Software Company. Has this game Link-Up been licensed yet? We would like to discuss a licensing deal with you. I assure you we will offer a good price."

"Professor X, looking forward to more of your masterpieces!"

...

The messages fell into two categories: those purely expressing admiration and those from optical brain software companies interested in purchasing the rights.

Selling the rights is the main way software developers earn rewards on the Software Alliance.

If a piece of software could sell its rights, it was considered successful.

But Ye Chui was in no hurry to deal with the rights just yet. During his development of Link-Up, he had researched a lot about this and knew the best time to sell was when the download count peaked. Only then could he get the best price.

Though he wasn’t planning to sell the rights immediately, Ye Chui didn’t mind browsing through the studios’ introductions to make a well-informed decision later.

“Chui, come out for dinner,” his father, Ye Haishan, called from outside the door. Ye Chui replied and was about to shut down his optical brain when a familiar name caught his eye: Lonely Seeker of Slimness.

Thinking for a moment, Ye Chui remembered who that was and smiled. He was about to shut down his optical brain but decided to open the message from Lonely Seeker of Slimness first.

“Professor X, please accept my knees first!”

The first sentence of the message made Ye Chui laugh again.

Remembering the previous funny comment from Lonely Seeker of Slimness, Ye Chui couldn't help but smile. If it hadn’t been for that funny comment, he might not have noticed him. He continued reading.

“Link-Up is so much fun. Even if I never get a girlfriend and spend my life with this game, it would be worth it!

Hehe, it turns out software can be made like this. It’s truly amazing. I really want to thank you in person for creating something so wonderful. How about we meet up?

Oh, I forgot to mention, I’m part of a software studio called Jian Fan Studio. Have you heard of it? It’s quite well-known on the Software Alliance.

Do you have a job right now? Would you like to join our studio?

Hehe, judging by your name, you must be a man. I can introduce you to my sister. She’s super pretty, though a bit wild in character, but she’s got a great figure—height 173 cm, measurements 86-60-91 (ps: same as Lin Chi-ling’s standards). Pretty hot, right?

And she’s never been in a relationship with a guy before, totally pure and reserved just for you. Isn’t that touching?

So, join our studio quickly. I can be your strategist and help you win her over!

That’s it, idol. Looking forward to your reply!!!!”

After reading the entire message, Ye Chui had an expression of speechlessness. This Lonely Seeker of Slimness… was really something!

He was willing to use his own sister as bait to recruit him into their studio.

Judging by her height and measurements, she had a stunning figure.

But never having been in a relationship… could she be a dinosaur?

...

In Jian Fan Studio in the suburbs.

“Achoo!”

Fang Nan, who was playing Link-Up at her computer, sneezed and looked around puzzled, “Damn it, who’s secretly cursing me!?”

...

Ye Chui read the message from Lonely Seeker of Slimness again, thought for a moment, and noted down Jian Fan Studio’s name in a notebook, putting it on his list of options.

He did this on a whim; Ye Chui’s real ambition was to develop large-scale games. His aspirations could only be realized in major optical brain companies, so these small studios weren’t originally in his plans.

However, for some reason, he felt compelled to note down Jian Fan Studio’s name.

Later in life, when Ye Chui looked back on this moment, he would always reflect on it with emotion.

“From the first comment I saw to checking the site messages, among the thousands of messages, I was subconsciously drawn to Lonely Seeker of Slimness’s name… Maybe this is fate.”
