## Chapter 44: Professor X and His X-Men

Hearing about the concept of a gaming community platform from Ye Chui, Zuo Xiaoyou was already astounded. She didn’t even doubt the feasibility of the idea; instead, she couldn’t help but think, “Why didn’t I ever think of this before?”

Playing poker or mahjong online with other people was an incredibly interesting idea! In the real world, countless people loved playing poker and mahjong. Playing these games with acquaintances could become boring after a while, but playing with strangers online would definitely keep things fresh.

Zuo Xiaoyou's cheeks started to flush with excitement, giving her a look that could easily make one think of something quite indecent. Yet she remained oblivious to this, and quickly said to Ye Chui, “This idea is too interesting. I’ll start preparing for it right away!”

“Don’t rush,” Ye Chui said with a smile. “There are other things about the website that we need to discuss.”

Ye Chui then discussed the website construction with Zuo Xiaoyou. Zuo Xiaoyou had studied website construction and maintenance in college and was an expert in this field. Originally, she planned to help Ye Chui build an information website, which she could handle on her own. But now, with the addition of the gaming platform, the difficulty increased significantly, requiring a team for development and maintenance.

Jian Fan Studio couldn’t help in this regard since they were currently fully engaged in developing Kung Fu. However, Zuo Xiaoyou knew some friends in this field and could quickly put together a team.

“This is the best solution,” Ye Chui agreed. If he had known people in this field earlier, he wouldn’t have needed to join another studio.

“Mr. Ye Chui, with the scale of this website, I suggest we establish a company. This would allow for structured management,” Zuo Xiaoyou proposed.

After considering it, Ye Chui agreed, “Alright, let’s set up a company.”

Ye Chui had many good ideas for website construction to implement, like the highly valuable concept of Facebook from another world. He also planned to develop classic online games such as Legend and World of Warcraft. All of this required the support of a network company.

Setting up a company in this world required 10,000 Huayuan and at least two shareholders. Registration could be done conveniently through the online business office.

Ye Chui and Zuo Xiaoyou were both decisive people. Once they decided to cooperate, they registered the company without delay. The initial investment was 200,000, with Ye Chui contributing 150,000 and Zuo Xiaoyou 50,000—all her savings. Originally, she planned to use this money to develop a website, but she decided to collaborate on the company after being attracted to Ye Chui’s gaming platform idea. Without hesitation, she took out all her hard-earned savings.

Ye Chui wasn’t aware of how important the 50,000 was to Zuo Xiaoyou; he saw her contribution as easy and didn’t think much of it. For Ye Chui, 50,000 or 200,000 wasn’t much since he had already earned over a million from the downloads of his games.

However, Ye Chui still needed more money. He needed 3 million per treatment session for his legs, with at least three sessions required for full recovery, totaling 10 million. There would also be additional rehabilitation costs. Ye Chui constantly pushed himself to make money.

“What should we name the company?” Zuo Xiaoyou asked during the registration process.

Ye Chui thought for a moment. Naming wasn’t his strong suit, so he asked Fang Nan, who was sitting nearby, “Nan Nan, what do you think?”

“Huh?” Fang Nan was daydreaming but responded quickly, “It doesn’t seem right for me to name the company you two are partnering in.”

“It’s fine. Consider it as a reference,” Zuo Xiaoyou said with a smile. Naming wasn’t her forte either, so she had used her real name for her software league forum editor role.

Hearing Zuo Xiaoyou’s words, Fang Nan thought seriously for a moment, “How about ‘Professor X’? Ye Chui is already famous online, and the name might help boost the company’s profile.”

Zuo Xiaoyou’s eyes lit up immediately, “I think it’s a good name.”

Ye Chui’s eyes also lit up but he didn’t agree with the name. Instead, he thought of an even better one, “Professor X isn’t great. How about ‘X-Men’?”

“X-Men?” Fang Nan and Zuo Xiaoyou were both puzzled. Fang Nan asked, “Is it referring to the X-Men under Professor X?”

“Yes,” Ye Chui smiled and nodded. “It’s a good name, right?”

Fang Nan nodded, “It sounds powerful…”

“Let’s go with it,” Zuo Xiaoyou also found it high-end and impressive.

Ye Chui also found it amusing, thinking, “Once the company is established, I can give employees nicknames like Wolverine, Phoenix, Rogue, Cyclops, etc. Maybe in a few years, Professor X and his X-Men will become legendary…”

The company was successfully established under the name “X-Men Network Company.” Ye Chui held 75% of the shares. Besides owning 25% of the shares, Zuo Xiaoyou was responsible for the company’s operations as the president. Of course, there was still much to be done—finding an office, recruiting members, and forming a development team, all tasks for Zuo Xiaoyou to handle.

After finalizing all the details, Zuo Xiaoyou left. “I’ll be living on bread and instant noodles for the next few months,” she sighed lightly outside the teahouse, then clenched her fist, “It’s like being freshly graduated again, but I feel even more motivated!”

Ye Chui and Fang Nan didn’t leave immediately.

“Chuichui, the company you and Xiaoyou are starting will definitely thrive,” Fang Nan said wistfully.

“I hope so,” Ye Chui smiled. He wasn’t very experienced in running a company, but he was confident that success depended on effort.

“Then…” Fang Nan hesitated, “If the company thrives, will you leave the studio?”

Ye Chui suddenly understood her hesitation and reassured her with a smile, “Don’t worry. I won’t leave the studio no matter what happens. Creating games is my biggest dream, and the company is just a means to support that dream.”

Fang Nan smiled sweetly, “That’s good. I was worried you’d leave the studio.”

“Of course not,” Ye Chui smiled, noticing Fang Nan’s hand on the side of the table. He reached out to hold it, “Nan Nan, you seem very reluctant for me to leave… Ah!”

Before Ye Chui could finish his meaningful words, he was interrupted by a sharp pain in his hand. The moment his hand touched Fang Nan’s, she reflexively grabbed his wrist, causing pain akin to being caught in a vice.

Ye Chui’s eyes almost teared up from the sudden pain.

“I’m sorry, I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to. It’s a habit,” Fang Nan said hastily, trying to comfort him.

“A habit?” Ye Chui couldn’t understand how such a habit could form. Also, how could Fang Nan’s delicate hand have such a strong grip?

“I thought there was mutual interest, so I took the risk of holding her hand. I guess I was too hasty,” Ye Chui reflected.

As Fang Nan rubbed Ye Chui’s wrist, she also berated herself internally, “It’s all because of my reflexes. If someone touches me, I instinctively counter. Now, Chuichui is probably scared. What a shame, we almost held hands…”
