ROSGT Chapter 33: Ambiance, Don't You Understand?

 ### Volume 1, Chapter 33: Ambiance, Don't You Understand?

On the way back to the studio, Ye Cui remained silent, frowning as he pondered something. This made Fang Nan nervous, wondering if Ye Cui was displeased because she had resorted to violence earlier.

Fang Nan’s initial interest in Ye Cui was mainly due to her admiration for the game Link Link. Her respect deepened when she saw how talented he was, creating a search game using her photo. His disability didn’t matter to her. Hearing him play "999 Roses" that night further increased her admiration, thinking only a deeply affectionate man could perform such a tender song.

She regretted her earlier outburst at the bar, fearing her violent side might have scared Ye Cui.

Ye Cui, however, wasn't distancing himself because of her actions. He was actually contemplating something important. When the bus arrived at their stop and Fang Nan pushed Ye Cui's wheelchair towards the apartment, Ye Cui finally spoke, "Nan Nan, do you know how to arrange music?"

"Arrange music?" Fang Nan was puzzled. "I know a bit. Why?"

"If I hum a tune, can you transcribe it into sheet music?" Ye Cui asked.

"That's no problem," Fang Nan said after a moment's thought.

"Great." Ye Cui's eyes lit up. "I want to write a song for Xiao Ling, but I don't know how to arrange music. I need your help."

"You mean you’ll hum the melody, and I’ll create the sheet music?" Fang Nan understood. "That's fine, but... you don’t know anything about sheet music?"

"I'm not familiar with arranging music," Ye Cui said as an excuse. "But I often hum tunes and come up with decent melodies—like the one I sang tonight, '999 Roses'."

Fang Nan's eyes sparkled. "You mean you have more songs as good as '999 Roses'?"

Ye Cui smiled and nodded. "Pretty much."

Fang Nan was immediately excited, pushing Ye Cui's wheelchair faster. She couldn't wait to hear his songs. If they were all as good as '999 Roses', they would be amazing!

Back at the apartment, Fang Xi rushed over, eyes gleaming. "I had no idea X Brother could sing as well as he makes games. That song drove everyone crazy. I could barely hold them back."

"Did they give you any trouble?" Ye Cui asked, smiling.

Luckily, Fang Xi had managed the crowd, or Ye Cui might not have been able to enter the bar and discover his sister being bullied.

"No, they were eager to get close to me, wanting to know who you are," Fang Xi said with a grin. "There was even an old man claiming to be a 'music godfather'. Pfft, a music godfather acting like that? I told him off."

"Good job," Fang Nan nodded.

When Fang Nan pushed Ye Cui out, the old man had chased them, yelling, "Catch him, don’t let him get away!"

Did he think this was a game of cops and robbers?

Ye Cui found Fang Xi's story amusing but didn’t dwell on it. He too thought the so-called 'music godfather' was unreliable.

(Room Old Man: …)

After chatting with Fang Xi for a while, Fang Nan, eager to hear Ye Cui’s songs, quickly pushed him into his room. She then rushed to her own room to grab a guitar and returned.

As she shut the door, Fang Nan sternly warned Fang Xi and Jian Fan, "Don’t disturb us!"

Bang! The door closed heavily.

Fang Xi and Jian Fan were left dumbfounded.

Fang Xi was shocked. "Wow, is it just me, or is my sister moving too fast with X Brother?"

"It's definitely a misunderstanding!" Jian Fan protested. "Fang Nan wouldn’t... If she was really doing something, why would she bring a guitar?"

"Ambiance, don’t you understand?" Fang Xi sneered.

Jian Fan: "..."

Ye Cui and Fang Nan didn’t realize how easily they could be misunderstood. Ye Cui was busy recalling certain songs, thinking about which one to sing for his sister. Fang Nan, excited, sat down with her guitar, ready to play.

After a moment, Ye Cui decided on a song. "This one! Nan Nan, I'll hum the tune first. Try to capture the melody and then create the sheet music."

The song Ye Cui chose was "Ningxia" by Liang Jingru. Its sweet and warm melody would suit Ye Ling's sweet and cute style perfectly. Ye Cui loved this song when it was popular, playing it on repeat, so he was very familiar with its tune.

After a brief pause, Ye Cui began humming the melody.

"In the quiet summer, stars dot the sky, thoughts of you linger, missing your face, I can pretend not to see, or secretly miss, hoping to touch your warm face..."

The lyrics were simple and catchy. Ye Cui could still hum all the words.

During this, Fang Nan was stunned by the song's beauty. It was just as good as "999 Roses"! Although Ye Cui’s voice wasn’t perfect for this song, its sweetness was evident.

If Ye Ling sang this... it would be impossible for her not to become popular!

"How was it? Is the song okay?" Ye Cui asked Fang Nan after finishing.

"It’s wonderful! Can you sing it again?" Fang Nan asked eagerly. She had been so absorbed in listening that she didn’t capture the melody.

Ye Cui agreed and hummed the song again. This time, Fang Nan quickly recorded the melody on her portable terminal. She was skilled, and by the time Ye Cui finished the second rendition, she had a good idea of the tune.

After some adjustments, Fang Nan eagerly played the melody on her guitar.

Hearing her play, Ye Cui was pleasantly surprised.

"Nan Nan has a real talent for this. Although her version is slightly different from the original, we can fine-tune it. With Nan Nan's help, I can recreate all the hit songs I remember!"

Ye Cui wasn’t interested in becoming a composer. His main passion was bringing the games from his world to this one. However, for his sister's sake, he wouldn’t hesitate to use any song that could make her famous.
