ROSGT Chapter 32: A Pretty Sister-in-Law is Good Enough; Why Does She Need to Fight?
### Volume 1, Chapter 32: A Pretty Sister-in-Law is Good Enough; Why Does She Need to Fight?
The room designated for the band's rest instantly fell silent, save for Ma Tao's continuous groaning from the floor. All eyes were on Black Widow Fang Nan. Despite her elegant attire, there was an unmistakable aura of lethality emanating from her. She wore a short black skirt, more cute than sexy, revealing a pair of beautiful black-stockinged legs complemented by high heels. Standing in front of Ye Cui, she exuded the aura of a stunning female agent.
Ye Cui was the first to recover, his gaze sweeping over the remaining members of the Explosive Band. He coughed lightly.
If there's ever a moment to show off, it's now.
"Apologize to Xiao Ling," Ye Cui said calmly, adopting a boss-like demeanor.
Gao Yang's expression changed immediately, and he hastily apologized to Ye Ling, "S-sorry."
Lili, looking pale, added, "Xiao Ling, I was wrong for treating you so poorly before. I'm sorry..."
Ma Tao, still groaning on the floor, could only manage, "Ugh... ugh..."
Ye Ling, on the other hand, felt a bit embarrassed. "It's... it's okay."
Ye Cui glanced at his sister, "Xiao Ling, let's go home."
Ye Ling looked reluctant. Playing at a nightclub paid much better than working at a restaurant; she could earn three hundred yuan a night. Leaving now felt hard. However, after today's incident, staying in the band would be awkward. She reluctantly nodded.
Ye Cui shot a cold look at Gao Yang and Lili. When they met his gaze, they immediately shrank back—Ye Cui wasn't scary, but the cold, fierce woman beside him was.
"Nannan, let's go," Ye Cui said.
At times like this, fewer words have a stronger impact.
Fang Nan nodded, stepped behind Ye Cui, and pushed his wheelchair out of the room. Ye Ling quickly gathered her belongings and followed them.
Outside on the street, Ye Cui's anger began to subside. He glanced at his sister, who was still dressed in her Shamate style. Ye Cui frowned. A pure, sweet girl like her dressed so outlandishly was hard for him to accept. But there was no time to return to the bar to change. Seeing a nearby café, Ye Cui told his sister, "Go to the café's restroom and wash your face, and change your clothes."
Ye Ling, dressed in a crop top, felt out of place standing on the street. She nodded and headed for the café, with Fang Nan quickly following her.
Ye Cui waited on the street for about ten minutes, during which his mind replayed Fang Nan's takedown of Ma Tao. Ma Tao was tall and strong; even if Ye Cui's legs weren't paralyzed, he might not have been able to beat him. But for Fang Nan, it was no problem...
"Why does she seem more and more like a tough woman?" Ye Cui couldn't help but think, stubbornly shaking his head. "It's an illusion. Definitely an illusion. She's supposed to be a girl who gives off a pure, first-love vibe. This tough woman stuff is all in my head."
Ye Ling emerged from the café, no longer in her Shamate style, returning to her pure, sweet self. She ran over, her face lit with excitement. She nearly pressed her face against Ye Cui's, her big eyes examining his face.
Ye Cui was speechless. "Xiao Ling, what are you doing?"
"I just heard from Nannan-jie... You're that Professor X?" Ye Ling asked in shock. Hearing this in the café had given her quite a surprise. Oh my god, she'd been playing Link Link for days, curious about what kind of person the creator, Professor X, was. But she never imagined it was her brother! Since when did her brother become so amazing?
Ye Cui was unsure how to respond to her astonishment. He nodded, "Yes, I am Professor X..."
"Ah!!!" Ye Ling squealed in excitement, hugging Ye Cui around the neck, "Brother, you're amazing!"
Fang Nan walked over, realizing Ye Cui had hidden his identity from his family. She said awkwardly, "I accidentally let it slip earlier. I didn't know Xiao Ling didn't know your identity..."
"It's fine," Ye Cui said, smiling. He hadn't intended to hide it from his family, but Professor X had caused such a stir that he didn't know how to explain it to them—he worried they might be suspicious about how he suddenly became so impressive after being unnoticed for six months. But now he saw he had been overthinking. As a sister, even if her brother's transformation was drastic, she would accept and be happy about it.
It took Ye Ling a long while to calm down. Her unhappiness about leaving the band vanished, and she happily bounced alongside Ye Cui. It was already evening, and everyone was hungry, so Ye Cui took the two girls to a restaurant for dinner.
During the meal, Fang Xi called. He and Jian Fan had separated from Ye Cui and Fang Nan. The chubby guy seemed intent on giving his sister and Ye Cui some alone time, so he took Jian Fan home.
"We should head back too," Ye Cui said after dinner, checking the time. They might miss the bus if they stayed out too late. He planned to return to Jian Fan's studio, while his sister would go home.
At the bus stop, Ye Cui pulled Ye Ling aside, opened his portable terminal, and transferred five thousand yuan to her account. "This is your pocket money. A girl should learn to dress nicely—but forget about the Shamate style."
"This is too much," Ye Ling exclaimed, "Brother, you need to save for your treatment. How can I take your money..."
"Don't worry about me," Ye Cui smiled. "I can make money now. I'll handle my treatment costs."
After much persuasion, Ye Ling finally accepted the money. She then pointed at Fang Nan, who was standing a bit away, and whispered to Ye Cui, "Brother, Nannan-jie is so pretty and strong. I heard her say she likes you too."
"Don't worry about that..." Ye Cui blushed, which was rare. "I know what I'm doing."
"Hehe," Ye Ling giggled. "Having a pretty and strong sister-in-law would be great."
"A pretty sister-in-law is enough. Why does she need to be strong?" Ye Cui rolled his eyes.
"No one would dare bully you then. Did you see how cool Nannan-jie was earlier? She took down Ma Tao in just a few moves. I've seen Ma Tao fight; two or three regular guys can't beat him," Ye Ling said, exaggerating.
"..."
Ye Cui was speechless. After what his sister said, Fang Nan's tough woman vibe seemed even stronger...
