Chapter 16: Sister, Go Greet the Guest
The bus swiftly navigated through the city as Ye Cui admired the urban landscape.
After communicating with Fang Xi, he immediately headed to the address provided by the chubby guy. The sooner the studio matter was resolved, the better. This was his first trip far from home since his rebirth, but with the integrated memories from this body and the similarities between this world and his original one, he managed to board a bus heading to the studio's location without much difficulty.
The bus's final stop was the district where Jianfan Studio was located.
Yanjing, a first-tier city in Huaxia, had Ye Cui living in the suburbs, but Jianfan Studio's location was even more remote.
Ye Cui felt a mix of excitement and slight apprehension during the journey. Although Fang Xi seemed to be his number one fan, the studio wasn't composed solely of him. He wasn’t sure how well he’d get along with the others. Another concern lingered—was Fang Xi’s sister a "dinosaur"?
About half an hour later, the bus arrived at its destination.
With the help of a kind old man, Ye Cui maneuvered his wheelchair off the bus via the ramp.
The final stop was a place called Mohe Village.
Scanning the area, Ye Cui recognized Fang Xi’s appearance from the Software Talent Show video. The chubbiest person in the crowd was undoubtedly him.
Soon, Ye Cui spotted his target.
A chubby guy, sweating profusely, was anxiously looking around. Despite his somewhat adorable and goofy appearance, he seemed about eighteen or nineteen, wearing a light yellow T-shirt.
He was quite tall, at least 1.8 meters, but his bulky frame made him look a bit chubby.
His eyes were small, now narrowed into slits as he nervously surveyed his surroundings.
Fang Xi quickly noticed Ye Cui, as Ye Cui was smiling at him. Realizing that this might be Professor X, despite the wheelchair being an unexpected detail, Fang Xi hesitated to approach.
But Ye Cui had already wheeled himself over, smiling as he spoke, “Are you Lonely Seeking Thin? Hi, I’m Professor X.”
“You’re really Professor X?” Fang Xi exclaimed in surprise. Realizing his reaction might be seen as disrespectful, he quickly smiled, “Please don’t take it the wrong way. I’m just surprised, that’s all.”
“It’s fine,” Ye Cui replied, shaking his head with a smile. “Where’s your studio?”
“Oh, I’ll take you there right away,” Fang Xi said hurriedly.
He stepped forward to help push Ye Cui’s wheelchair, leading the way to a nearby street. Recovering from his initial surprise, Fang Xi’s admiration for Professor X was undiminished. He started talking enthusiastically.
“Professor X, Link Link is amazing! It’s a revolutionary game. Your second game is coming out soon, right? I’m confident it will surpass Link Link. Your creativity is unbeatable...”
Ye Cui interrupted Fang Xi, “Can you stop using formal titles? I’m only a few years older than you, and those titles feel too formal.”
“Alright, Professor X,” Fang Xi agreed, though he preferred to address his idol more casually.
“And maybe drop the ‘Professor X’ too. My real name is Ye Cui,” Ye Cui explained.
“Ye Cui? That’s a great name. Can I call you Brother X?”
“...Whatever,” Ye Cui said, rolling his eyes.
Suddenly, Fang Xi’s eyes lit up, and he cheekily said, “Brother X, you’re single, right? I can introduce you to my sister. She was going to come with me to meet you, but she felt a bit shy and went back to dress up. You’ll be amazed when you see her.”
Seriously, pushing his sister again...
Even seeing that he was disabled, Fang Xi was still so eager, making Ye Cui increasingly suspicious that Fang Xi’s sister was indeed a "dinosaur." And in fact, Fang Xi’s sister was a dinosaur, but more like a ferocious T-Rex.
“Our studio is just here,” Fang Xi said a few minutes later, bringing Ye Cui to an apartment building. He walked up and pounded on the door, shouting, “Sister, sister, go greet the guest!”
For heaven’s sake, could he not say it like that? It felt like a brothel greeting, and Ye Cui almost fell out of his wheelchair.
The apartment door slowly opened, and unexpectedly, a beautiful, serene face appeared.
With delicate features, fair skin, bright eyes, and long hair cascading over her shoulders, the girl stood there. As the door fully opened, her graceful figure came into view. She wore a simple tank top and short skirt, her hands shyly behind her back, presenting a heart-stopping image.
In the two weeks since his rebirth, Ye Cui was sure this was the prettiest girl he had seen.
Compared to her, the green tea girl Lin Xin paled in comparison.
Her pure aura evoked memories of a first love...
This stunning girl was, of course, Fang Nan.
Seeing Ye Cui in a wheelchair, Fang Nan was briefly surprised, but like Fang Xi, her surprise was merely due to the contrast with her expectations, not any negative reaction.
She quickly recovered, smiling, “You must be Professor X. I’m Fang Xi’s sister, Fang Nan. You can call me Nan Nan. I’m your fan.”
Her sweet voice made Fang Xi shiver. Hearing his sister speak like this was unnerving...
“Really? That’s my honor,” Ye Cui replied with a smile. Having a beautiful fan was indeed a pleasant feeling.
Fang Nan walked behind Ye Cui’s wheelchair, warmly saying to her brother, “Let me push him.”
“Let me do it, sis,” Fang Xi didn’t want to miss this chance to bond with his idol.
“I said, let me!” Fang Nan insisted with a smile, though her eyes flashed with a warning.
Fang Xi immediately let go of the wheelchair handles—his sister’s familiar murderous glare prompted an instinctive reaction.
Fang Nan then wheeled Ye Cui into the apartment.
Inside, the apartment’s hall housed three network brains. A handsome man stood in the center, ready to greet Professor X. This was Jianfan Studio’s leader, Jianfan.
With a rehearsed smile, he awaited Professor X’s arrival.
But seeing Ye Cui being wheeled in, he couldn’t help but blurt out, “Huh!? You’re disabled?”
