MSSU Chapter 4
"What?" Luo Feng jumped up in shock.
"Senior Sister Seven, I treat you like my own sister, and you want to sleep with me and have my child. Are you serious?"
Luo Feng was utterly bewildered.
Seeing Luo Feng's reaction, Gu Xuexian burst into laughter and teased, "Look how scared you are! Senior Sister Seven was just joking with you, to see if you had any bad intentions towards her."
Luo Feng let out a sigh of relief and slumped onto the sofa, saying with a wry smile, "Senior Sister Seven, you really scared me just now."
"Alright, I can see you're tired too. Take some rest now. Tomorrow morning at eight sharp, Senior Sister Seven will take you to a fun place."
With that, Gu Xuexian got up and gently closed the door behind her.
But Luo Feng would never know that on that night, his Senior Sister Seven stayed up all night.
Luo Feng always had good quality sleep and naturally woke up early.
Living in seclusion in the mountains, his master often said he had average talent and couldn't compare with the seven stunning and talented sisters.
So Luo Feng understood the meaning of "diligence can make up for mediocrity."
In the early morning light, Luo Feng went out for a run.
The early mornings in Longcheng were somewhat lonely. On the streets, one could see mostly tired and hurried figures of people striving for their livelihoods and youth.
This reminded Luo Feng of what his master had said before.
This world was no longer the same as before.
The former world relied on hot-bloodedness and a jug of hot wine.
But now, this world no longer had a boat that could carry them, the old folks, forward.
This world was about social connections, no longer suitable for them.
Undoubtedly, Luo Feng was eloquent, speaking to people in a way they wanted to hear, speaking different words to different people. This was the best survival skill his master had taught him.
He didn't know how long he had been running when Luo Feng gradually reached the side of the moat and sat down on the ground, beginning to meditate calmly with his legs crossed.
At that moment, however, Luo Feng seemed to notice someone standing in the distance.
It was a woman, with a figure similar to Gu Xuexian's, but different in that she was very mature, exuding a feminine maturity that Gu Xuexian didn't possess.
Her long black hair fluttered in the wind as she stood by the surging moat, her face slightly pale.
"Sister, life is long. Don't resort to drastic measures over trivial matters," Luo Feng stood up, sensing that the woman was contemplating suicide by jumping into the river.
The woman glanced lightly at Luo Feng. With fair skin and snow-white teeth, her smile gave off a harmless vibe.
She didn't explain why she was standing here but instead assessed Luo Feng, saying neither warmly nor coldly, "If I jump down, will you save me?"
Luo Feng was stunned, evidently not expecting such an answer from the beautiful woman, and one that was so calm and composed.
"Because I'm beautiful?"
"Yes, and then according to the plot of a novel, you would end up falling in love with me. Should I jump then?" Luo Feng had unconsciously walked behind the woman, preparing to take action at the right moment.
With a slight upward curve of her red lips, the woman brushed aside her hair and said lightly, "But you can't afford me, and..."
"And what?"
"And no one dares to like me," the woman's expression revealed a hint of loneliness and pain, but she habitually hid her emotions behind her fake smile.
Sometimes, being too beautiful was a sin in itself.
"Don't worry about me. I just wanted some alone time," the woman glanced at Luo Feng again, her gaze conveying a sense of warning, "Hurry and leave. It wouldn't be good if he sees you later."
"He?" Luo Feng was puzzled.
As soon as he said this, a middle-aged man got out of a black Land Rover parked on the road in the distance.
"I heard from the higher-ups that you threw a tantrum. I knew you'd be here," the middle-aged man walked over, his tone devoid of any emotion.
"Woman, it's normal to have a few bad days occasionally," the woman took the initiative to take the man's hand, "Let's go, it's almost time for the reception."
"Who is he?" The middle-aged man glanced warily at Luo Feng.
"Just a kind little brother I don't know. He thought I was going to jump into the river to kill myself, quite cute."
The middle-aged man frowned and said coldly to Luo Feng, "Kid, there are some things you can't have, and some women you can't touch. Don't think I don't know what you're thinking."
Finishing his words, the middle-aged man seemed to be declaring sovereignty as he embraced the woman's slender waist and left.
Luo Feng shrugged, paying no heed to the middle-aged man's warning, and returned to the Gu Mansion.
"Where did you go, Xiaofeng!" Gu Xuexian burst into Luo Feng's room, having heard from the servants that Luo Feng had returned.
Luo Feng had changed into a clean set of clothes, his years-old garments now somewhat faded. "Senior Sister Seven, I went out for a run. Is there something you need?"
"Did you forget what I told you yesterday? I'm taking you to a fun place today," Gu Xuexian said softly.
"I know, is there good food there?" Luo Feng's mind was filled with memories of the sumptuous feast they had at the hotel yesterday.
"Of course, Grandpa and my father have already left. Let's hurry and catch up," Gu Xuexian seemed particularly excited about today's activity, pulling Luo Feng along as they set off like the wind.
...
The Longcheng Temple Fair was a local festival unique to Longcheng.
Gu Xuexian told Luo Feng that this festival had a history of over three hundred years, passed down from the ancestors of Longcheng.
Longcheng used to be a barren land, far from the prosperity it enjoys today.
The fair was originally held to pray for rain, so for the locals, it was not just a festival but also a matter of faith.
And as one of the leading families in Longcheng, the Gu family naturally had the responsibility to lead the city forward.
The reception was meant to bring together the major families of Longcheng, strengthen bonds between them, and discuss the future development of the city.
However, at this moment, Gu Lao sat in his seat, his face somewhat grim upon hearing an urgent report from a servant.
"Li Haoran was beaten by Luo Feng. Is it serious?" Gu Qingyun asked solemnly.
"Mr. Gu, Master Li is not seriously injured, but now the Li family is very angry. They accuse us, Mr. Gu, of breaking our promise. They say that when we agreed to the marriage alliance between our families, now bringing in Luo Feng has disrupted it. The implication is..."
Gu Lao calmly continued, "...the implication is that I have reneged on my word, using Luo Feng to insult the Li family?"
"More or less," the servant replied awkwardly.
"Humph, the Li family knows I was drunk that day. They deliberately got me drunk and made me promise to betroth my granddaughter to them. How else could I have agreed?" Gu Lao snorted disdainfully, clearly very displeased with the trap the Li family had set for him that day.
Who was Li Haoran? The Gu family was well aware.
He was known as a playboy, idle and aimless.
In terms of character or background, he was far from being worthy of Gu Xuexian.
"Grandpa, we're here," Gu Xuexian had already brought Luo Feng in, hand in hand, paying no attention to the gazes of the various families present.
This! This was precisely Gu Xuexian's intention.
She wanted to tell the Li family that Li Haoran was not worthy of her, Gu Xuexian.
And the rumors were true; she, Gu Xuexian, already had a man.
"Gu Xuexian!" In the distance, Li Haoran's face turned ashen as he rushed out of the crowd. "How dare you bring this useless trash to such an important occasion? Are you intentionally humiliating my Li family? Have you no shame?"
"Outrageous! Who do you think you're talking to?" Gu Qingyun's face darkened. "Mind your language. The Gu family has never formally agreed to your marriage!"
"Dad, you heard it yourself. I didn't lie or slander Gu Xuexian, did I?" Li Haoran retreated a few steps, intimidated by Gu Qingyun, and took refuge behind Li Tianchen, who had just come in from outside.
Luo Feng, seeing Li Tianchen, was taken aback. Wasn't he the middle-aged man with the beautiful woman he encountered during his morning run?
Li Tianchen also seemed surprised to see Luo Feng. Then, his expression turned grim, and his gaze fell on the quietly resting Gu Lao.
"Mr. Gu, do you know what you're saying?" Li Tianchen gritted his teeth and said heavily, "By allowing your granddaughter and this kid to behave like this, aren't you being disrespectful, both in terms of the Gu family's stature and your identity?"
"Among youngsters, a little friction is normal. Who hasn't had a moment of hot-headedness, right?" Gu Lao glanced at Li Haoran, who looked battered and bruised, and said casually.
He really hadn't expected Luo Feng to beat up Li Haoran like this.
Gu Lao didn't hold a grudge against Luo Feng; in fact, he was grateful to him.
The Li family had set him up that day, tricking him into agreeing to marry Gu Xuexian to Li Haoran. He had been furious, but his position here made it difficult for him to act out.
But now, thanks to Luo Feng's appearance and the lesson he had given Li Haoran, he felt incredibly relieved.
"Mr. Gu, do you know what you're saying?" Li Tianchen clenched his teeth, his expression darkening. "Are you being too casual with your words? Are you suggesting that my son was beaten up by this inexplicable kid for no reason?"
"What do you want?" Gu Lao narrowed his eyes, smiling. "Li Haoran wants you to apologize to him on your knees in front of everyone. What do you think?" Gu Lao was curious to see how his youngest disciple would handle this.
"Xiaofeng, what are you doing? I'm talking to you," Gu Xuexian, on the side, was extremely distressed, quickly pulling Luo Feng back.
"Grandpa, what did you say?" Luo Feng smirked.
"Li Haoran wants you to kneel down and apologize to him. What do you say?" Gu Lao was curious.
"Apologize?" Luo Feng approached Li Haoran with malicious intent, scaring him into trembling all over.
"I didn't quite catch that. Can you please say it again? Who is supposed to kneel down and apologize to you?" Luo Feng walked up to Li Haoran and whispered.
"I-I want you to ap...apologize. What's wrong?" Li Haoran stammered nervously.
With a laugh, Luo Feng slapped him across the face, sending Li Haoran flying.
