ABCFWGR ### Chapter 119: Master

"You... want me to face death?"

Gu Chen's expression was indifferent, as if he were looking at a corpse.

Seeing this, Hu Hankang felt a chill down his spine. If it were someone else, as a grandmaster, saying "facing death is an honor for you" wouldn't be an exaggeration. But this was Gu Chen.

Even with borrowed courage, he wouldn't dare!

At the Li family warehouse, he had personally experienced Gu Chen's ruthlessness. He couldn't fight him, couldn't escape, caught in a dilemma.

The He family misled me!

Hu Hankang roared internally but dared not move. He cautiously said, "Mr. Gu, don't you remember me? I'm Hu Hankang. We crossed paths in An Province."

"Last time's lesson wasn't enough? You came to Lin'an specifically to die?" Gu Chen recognized him, but it didn't matter; he was completely unmoved.

Hu Hankang was terrified, almost losing his soul, and said with a pleading face, "It's a misunderstanding, Mr. Gu. I didn't know the He family had offended you!"

"The He family?"

Gu Chen squinted, "I didn't bother with them, and they still overstepped. Indeed, being too kind is not good."

A horse is ridden by others if it's good, a person is bullied if they're kind.

The ancients didn't deceive me!

"You're absolutely right, Mr. Gu. But the He family isn't worth your attention. Why not let me handle it for you?" Hu Hankang clung to this lifeline, trying to curry favor.

Gu Chen didn't give him the chance: "Leave the He family aside for now. Let's deal with the matter at hand."

This meant dealing with him. Hu Hankang felt his scalp tingle.

"I'll give you three seconds to restore the door," Gu Chen ordered coldly.

Three seconds?

Hu Hankang didn't dare delay even for a second. He mobilized his deep inner strength, swiftly picked up the door panel, and reattached it.

He was secretly relieved. Luckily, he had knocked it off with a palm, not shattered it with a kick, otherwise, he wouldn't know what to do.

"Mr. Gu, the door is fixed. Do you have any other instructions?" Hu Hankang fawned.

Gu Chen didn't speak, just beckoned him over.

Hu Hankang suspected a trap and didn't dare move forward.

"What? Do you need me to invite you?" Gu Chen raised an eyebrow.

"No... no need." Hu Hankang's mouth twitched as he forced himself to walk over.

It was a short distance, but he felt like he was walking to his execution, stumbling with each step, staying alert for any signs of danger to run away.

But despite all his precautions, he overestimated his reaction time.

"Bang!"

Gu Chen struck out, sending Hu Hankang flying like a kite with a broken string, crashing into the freshly reattached door.

"Boom!"

The door, barely holding together, collapsed, falling right on top of Hu Hankang.

"Is this what you call fixed? Are you fooling me or yourself?" Gu Chen said lightly.

Hu Hankang wasn't stupid; he knew Gu Chen did it on purpose. But he was like a mute eating bitter herbs, unable to complain, poking his head out from under the door panel, saying, "Mr. Gu, please calm down. I'll fix it again."

After he reattached the door, Gu Chen beckoned again.

This time, Hu Hankang was extremely cautious. He thought he must have been careless earlier. Even if he wasn't Gu Chen's match, as a grandmaster, he should at least have a chance to defend himself.

In fact.

He didn't even see Gu Chen's move clearly before being sent flying again by a single palm strike.

In an instant, a bold guess surfaced in Hu Hankang's mind. This guess made his back hair stand on end, and he involuntarily shivered.

With this thought, without waiting for Gu Chen to speak, Hu Hankang very consciously fixed the door again. Like an old dog eager to please its master, he hurried to Gu Chen, ready to endure his next attack.

"Anyway, I won't die. At most, I'll get beaten a few times. Not a bad deal!" Hu Hankang thought to himself.

Has he learned to answer quickly?

Gu Chen gave him a strange look but didn't strike again. Pointing to the door, he said, "Get out and stand there."

"Yes."

Hu Hankang dared not object and ran out like the wind.

Just as Gu Chen was changing clothes, he suddenly heard a woman's voice at the door, "Excuse me, who is staying in this room?"

Is that Chen Yuwei's voice?

Unexpectedly, he was discovered so soon. Gu Chen hastened his dressing.

Since he was already found out, hiding would only seem guilty. It was better to face it openly.

At this moment, he heard Hu Hankang reprimand, "Go away, don't meddle. My master is so noble, how can an ordinary woman like you think of him? Though you have some looks, you are not worthy!"

"You..."

Chen Yuwei turned and left in anger. This old man was so rude. She had just thought she met an acquaintance and asked out of curiosity, but he insulted her instead. It was outrageous.

If the servant was like this, one could only imagine the master's character.

Chen Yuwei walked back angrily, thinking she had only come out because she heard someone call Gu Chen's name and wanted to check it out. She didn't expect to be wronged like this.

But soon she felt she was overthinking. How could Gu Chen be staying in a hotel?

Actually, it wasn't Hu Hankang's fault. In her current disheveled state, she didn't resemble the glamorous Lin'an flower at all. She was barely recognizable as a pretty woman.

If she had appeared in her original state, Hu Hankang would have been happy to answer. But in this state...

Better not scare Mr. Gu!

Little did he know, Chen Yuwei indeed knew Gu Chen, making his actions counterproductive.

Inside the room.

Gu Chen silently retracted his step. This was better, avoiding an awkward meeting. He then shouted outside, "Get back in here."

Hu Hankang quickly ran back, "Mr. Gu, do you have any other instructions?"

"What did you call me just now?" Gu Chen asked.

"Master!"

Hu Hankang didn't find it embarrassing at all. Smiling, he said, "From now on, you are my master, and I am your most loyal servant. I will follow you, no matter the cost."

When the bold guess surfaced in his mind, he had this thought. He just hadn't had time to express it before being kicked out by Gu Chen.

This was his only way to save himself. Last time he was lucky to be spared. He couldn't hope for such luck again; he had to save himself.

"A grandmaster wants to be my servant? I'm afraid I can't bear such a blessing," Gu Chen said with a cold smile.

Hu Hankang's heart sank. He hadn't expected this response but could feel that Gu Chen wasn't exuding any killing intent. Thinking quickly, he bowed and said, "I beg Mr. Gu to show me a way to live."

"If it were you, would you keep a potential threat by your side?" Gu Chen said, slowly taking out a small jade bottle and placing it on the bedside.

Seeing the jade bottle, Hu Hankang's expression froze, his heart racing.

Even though he didn't know exactly what was in it, he was sure it was meant to control him.

Once he swallowed it, his life would be in Gu Chen's hands.
