ABCFWGR ## Chapter 120: The Nine Venom Pills

"So, this is what you mean by being willing to go through fire and water for me?"

Gu Chen shook his head with a laugh, preparing to take back the jade bottle.

However, just as Gu Chen was about to grab the bottle, a fierce determination flashed in Hu Hankang's eyes. He snatched the jade bottle, not caring about what was inside or the consequences.

He pulled out the stopper and gulped down the contents in one go.

He could distinctly feel a few round pills dissolving in his mouth, tasting of herbs mixed with something that felt like insect limbs.

Suppressing his nausea, he swallowed them with a gulp and said, "Mr. Gu, now you can be at ease, right?"

Gu Chen didn't respond immediately but asked, "Do you know what you just swallowed?"

Hu Hankang felt a sudden sense of foreboding.

"The Nine Venom Pills," Gu Chen said, enunciating each word.

Boom!

Upon hearing the name, Hu Hankang could barely stand, staggering back several steps, disbelief in his eyes. "Why? I've already submitted to you. Why do you still want to kill me?"

The Nine Venom Pills were among the top ten most poisonous pills in the world, ranking in the top five.

Despite being called poisonous pills, they were made from highly beneficial herbs, but this did not conceal their deadly nature.

There was no cure, no doctor could save him; death was the only path.

"Since you've submitted, your life belongs to me. If I want you dead, what's wrong with that?" Gu Chen said matter-of-factly.

Boom!

Hu Hankang's heart sank to the bottom, and he unleashed a tremendous fighting spirit. His bloodshot eyes seemed ready to tear Gu Chen to pieces in the next moment.

Instantly, the doors and windows shattered, the walls and floor cracked, covered in spider-web-like fissures.

The terror of a grandmaster's power was evident.

"Even if I die, I'll drag you to hell with me!" Hu Hankang roared, his hair and beard bristling.

Gu Chen remained unmoved, looking at him indifferently. "Are you sure?"

Hearing this, Hu Hankang's eyes were filled with struggle. Suddenly, he hesitated, saying in a deep voice, "You're forcing me!"

"So what if I am?"

With that, an unyielding sharpness emanated from Gu Chen, instantly overwhelming Hu Hankang's aura.

"Dare to fight me?"

Boom!

Thunder rumbled outside the window as Gu Chen's overwhelming aura seemed to change the very heavens and earth.

"As expected..."

Hu Hankang's aura receded like a tide. Without even fighting, he had already lost. He seemed to age decades in an instant, leaning against the wall in dejection.

"Ugh!"

Suddenly, Hu Hankang let out a muffled groan, his expression becoming extremely pained and twisted. Veins bulged on his forehead, throbbing as if he were enduring some extreme torture.

The poison of the Nine Venom Pills was taking effect.

"You swallowed seven of the Nine Venom Pills and managed to hold out until now. Your constitution isn't bad. Too bad you're about to die," Gu Chen said nonchalantly.

Hu Hankang gritted his teeth, glancing at Gu Chen without saying a word.

Because saying anything more was futile.

"Bang!"

Hu Hankang could no longer hold on and collapsed heavily to the ground, writhing in pain, unsure where to clutch himself as every part of his body felt like it was being flayed alive.

"Give... give me a quick death!"

Hu Hankang reached out to Gu Chen, no longer seeking to live, only to die swiftly.

"Tsk tsk tsk~"

Gu Chen clicked his tongue. "You're giving up so quickly? The Nine Venom Pills inflict nine ultimate tortures. This is only the second. There are still seven more to go. Take your time and enjoy. Don't be in a hurry."

"You..."

Hu Hankang glared at Gu Chen with intense hatred, wishing he could devour him alive.

"Poof~"

The intense pain overwhelmed Hu Hankang, causing him to spit out a mouthful of blood, which dispersed like mist.

Gu Chen yawned nonchalantly.

Seeing this, Hu Hankang became even more enraged, spitting out another mouthful of blood.

As time passed, Hu Hankang was barely clinging to life. The once mighty grandmaster seemed on the brink of death.

At that moment, Gu Chen flicked his fingers, sending several strands of energy into Hu Hankang's body.

Immediately, Hu Hankang began to cough up blood uncontrollably. Barely conscious, he muttered, "I'm about to die, and you still won't let me go. What grudge do you have against me?"

Gu Chen kicked him in the chest, frowning, "Stop babbling. If you're not dead, get up."

The kick almost knocked the wind out of Hu Hankang. He clutched his chest in pain.

Wait!

Hu Hankang suddenly paused, rubbing his chest a few more times to be sure. He realized that his internal energy was shifting from death to life. In other words, he was fine now—he had survived.

Recalling Gu Chen's words, Hu Hankang quickly got up, bowing deeply with genuine respect. "Thank you, Mr. Gu, for your mercy. From now on, I, Hu Hankang, swear my unwavering loyalty. If I break this oath, may I be struck by lightning!"

With that, Hu Hankang bit his finger and smeared a line of blood across his forehead.

At that moment, he truly swore his allegiance.

"Let's go."

Gu Chen glanced at him indifferently.

Hu Hankang didn't ask where they were going. He followed closely behind, fixing the door frame on their way out. Although it was barely holding together, it was better than nothing.

Downstairs, the young receptionist was the first to notice Gu Chen. Worried, she asked, "Mr. Gu, an old man went up to cause you trouble earlier. Are you okay?"

She had just finished speaking when she noticed the old man in question following Gu Chen. Her face turned pale, and she almost burst into tears.

Seeing the change in her expression, Gu Chen signaled her not to be afraid and asked, "Did he bully you just now?"

The young girl wanted to nod but held back her grievances, shaking her head because she knew the man was associated with the He family.

Gu Chen understood and commanded, "Apologize!"

The girl thought he was addressing her, startled, she said to Hu Hankang, "Old sir, I'm sorry, it was my fault, I..."

"What are you doing?" Gu Chen asked, surprised.

"Didn't you tell me to apologize to the old gentleman?" The young girl frowned.

Gu Chen smiled helplessly. What kind of understanding is this?

Seeing this, Hu Hankang hurriedly put on a friendly smile and said, "Young lady, it was all a misunderstanding. I am Mr. Gu's servant. If I offended you earlier, please don't take it to heart."

"Huh?"

The young girl was stunned, her mouth agape. It took her a while to process that this kind and gentle old man was the same rude one from before. They seemed like two different people.

She stole a glance at Gu Chen, thinking it must be his doing. Otherwise, how could the old man have become so polite?

However, the manager had said this old man was from the He family, yet Mr. Gu's surname was Gu. The old man claimed to be Mr. Gu's servant. What was the relationship between Mr. Gu and the He family?

So confusing!

By the time she had gathered her thoughts and looked up again, Gu Chen and Hu Hankang had already left the hotel.

"They left so quickly. I didn't even get to say thank you."

The young girl tilted her head, watching Gu Chen's departing figure with a hint of regret.
