ABCFWGR ### Chapter 118: Arrogant Brat

In front of the hotel.

The He family's driver slowly parked the car and turned around to flatteringly say, "Master Hu, we’ve arrived."

“Hmm.”

Hu Hankang, who had been resting with his eyes closed, suddenly opened them, a flash of cold light passing through.

He then strode into the hotel with his head held high.

Reaching the front desk, he slapped the counter: "Which room is Gu Chen in?"

"Sir... sir, we can't reveal guest information so freely. Please contact him directly," the receptionist stammered, frightened by his fierce demeanor.

“Hmm?”

Hu Hankang glared at her, slowly raising his hand to reveal a one-centimeter-deep handprint on the counter. He threatened, "I'll give you another chance to rephrase. Which room is Gu Chen in?"

“Th-th-this...”

The receptionist, being an ordinary person, had never encountered such a situation before.

Terrified, she nearly burst into tears, her voice trembling, "I'll be fired if I disclose guest privacy. Please, I beg you, don’t make it difficult for me, okay?"

“Hahaha!”

Hu Hankang laughed heartily, "I love delicate beauties like you. Working as a receptionist, how much do you earn a month? Why not follow me and I’ll ensure you live a luxurious life?"

Like hell!

Though frightened, the receptionist retained her composure. The elderly man before her, old enough to be her grandfather, making such comments was truly shameless.

Seeing her remain silent, Hu Hankang's expression turned cold, "What, you’re unwilling?"

"Please wait a moment."

Forcing a smile, the receptionist knew she couldn’t provoke him, so she prepared to call the manager.

Hu Hankang sneered but did not stop her from making the call.

Soon, a chubby man with glasses arrived. After sizing up Hu Hankang, he asked, "What’s going on?"

"Manager, this gentleman wants to check our client's information. I couldn’t make the decision," the receptionist explained.

The chubby manager glared at her, displeased, "You called me for something so trivial? What’s the point of having you here? Follow the rules; we can't disclose guest privacy."

He then snorted dismissively at Hu Hankang.

Disregarding him, Hu Hankang's anger flared, and he stepped forward, delivering a powerful slap.

A loud smack echoed as the manager spun in place.

"Who do you think you are, daring to disrespect me? You must be blind!"

The receptionist was paralyzed with fear, covering her mouth, unsure of what to do.

The chubby manager, dizzy and holding his face, finally steadied himself and yelled, "Old man, how dare you hit me? Do you want to die? Believe me, you won't leave this place!"

"Such big talk, running a tiny hotel and acting lawless. You think you're more powerful than the He family?" Hu Hankang mocked.

The He family?

The manager's face turned pale, his mind racing with countless thoughts. He cautiously probed, "What... what’s your relationship with the He family?"

"Old Lady He personally treats me as an honored guest. What do you think our relationship is?" Hu Hankang retorted.

Boom!

The manager felt as if struck by lightning. In mere seconds, his expression changed repeatedly. The He family was one of the top noble families in Lin’an. If this man was truly treated as an honored guest by Old Lady He, then he was not someone the manager could afford to offend.

"Old... Old Sir, this is a misunderstanding, a family not recognizing another family. I've had the honor of meeting He Yuan, the head of the He family, once. If you'd introduced yourself earlier, I wouldn't have dared to disrespect you," the chubby manager quickly put on a fawning smile.

"So, are you saying this is my fault?" Hu Hankang pressed aggressively.

The chubby manager hurriedly said he wouldn't dare and then offered, "Finding someone is a trivial matter; there's no need for you to trouble yourself. I'll handle it right away."

However, Hu Hankang was not pleased. Pointing at the young receptionist, he said, "Get lost, let her do it."

The chubby manager's eyes flickered with an understanding, lewd smile, "What are you standing around for? Being favored by the old gentleman is a blessing for you, get on with it."

The receptionist was unwilling but had no choice given the circumstances. She reluctantly revealed Gu Chen's room number.

"Good, well done. I'll come back to reward you later," Hu Hankang said, giving the receptionist a meaningful look before striding into the elevator.

The receptionist, not naive to the ways of the world, understood the implications of his look and quickly told the manager, "Manager, I... I want to resign."

The chubby manager glared at her fiercely, "You're doing fine; why resign? Stay put!"

"But..."

Before the receptionist could finish her sentence, the manager cut her off forcefully, "But what? If you dare leave, don't expect a cent of your salary. Don't forget, your mother is still in the hospital. Can you bear the consequences?"

"And remember, when the old gentleman comes down, make sure to impress him. He's a distinguished guest of the He family. Just one word from him, and your mother's medical bills will be covered, got it?"

Hearing the manager's threats and temptations, the receptionist's face turned pale. But as he said, her mother was still hospitalized, and the hefty medical bills were already a heavy burden on the family.

If she lost this month's salary, it would only add to the family's woes. She had no courage to resist.

"Remember, when you cozy up to the He family, don't forget my support," the chubby manager dreamed aloud.

His words and tone showed he didn't regard her as a person at all, just a pawn to manipulate.

Upstairs.

Hu Hankang arrived at Gu Chen's door, skipping the formalities. With one powerful strike, he sent the wooden door flying, shouting, "Gu Chen, get out here and face your death!"

The room was empty except for the sound of running water from the bathroom.

Gu Chen, who was showering, frowned at the commotion outside and coldly asked, "Who let you in?"

This voice... sounded somewhat familiar.

Hu Hankang was a bit surprised but dismissed it, saying, "You’ve offended someone recently. Are you unaware?"

"I've offended many people; I can't keep track," Gu Chen said honestly.

However, to Hu Hankang, this sounded like a provocation, and he angrily roared, "Arrogant brat! Do you really think you're an unstoppable force? Come out and face your death!"

With a crash, the bathroom door opened. Gu Chen, wrapped in a towel, stood proudly at the door, his cold gaze slowly falling on Hu Hankang.

Suddenly, Hu Hankang felt as if he was being stared down by a fierce beast, his whole body chilled.

For someone to make a grandmaster-level expert sense danger, this person was not to be underestimated.

While remaining cautious, Hu Hankang quickly looked up. When he saw who was standing before him, he was almost shocked out of his wits, instinctively swallowing hard, "It’s... it’s you!"

No wonder the voice sounded familiar earlier.

"Ol... Old Sir, this is a case of a flood washing over the Dragon King's temple; family members not recognizing each other. I was fortunate enough to meet Master He Yuan of the He family once. If you had revealed your identity earlier, I wouldn't have dared to be disrespectful to you." The fat manager switched to a fawning smile.

"So, are you saying this is my fault?" Hu Hankang retorted aggressively.

The fat manager quickly responded, "I wouldn't dare say that. I'll handle this matter for you immediately; no need for you to trouble yourself."

However, Hu Hankang wasn't pleased. Pointing at the young receptionist, he said, "Get out of the way, let her do it."

The fat manager's small eyes darted around, revealing a knowing, lewd smile. "What are you waiting for? To be recognized by the old sir is a great honor for you. Hurry up."

The receptionist was unwilling, but circumstances were beyond her control. She resigned herself to her fate and revealed Gu Chen's room number.

"Very good, well done. I'll reward you later," Hu Hankang said pointedly, then strode into the elevator.

The receptionist, not being naive, understood the implication behind his look and quickly said to the fat manager, "Manager, I... I want to resign."

The fat manager glared at her fiercely. "You're doing a good job, why resign? Stay put!"

"But..."

Before she could finish, the fat manager cut her off harshly, "But what? If you dare leave, don't expect a single penny of your salary. Don't forget, your mother is still in the hospital. Are you sure you can bear the consequences?"

"And remember, when the old sir comes back down, make sure to behave well. He's a distinguished guest of the He family. If you manage to please him, your mother's medical bills will be covered. Understand?"

Hearing the manager's threats and inducements, the receptionist's face turned pale. But as he said, her mother was still in the hospital, and the high medical bills were already suffocating her family. If her salary was withheld, it would only make things worse, and she had no courage to resist.

"Once you cling to the He family, don't forget it was this manager who helped you," the fat manager said, indulging in his daydreams.

His words showed he didn't regard her as a person, adept at exploiting powerless individuals.

Upstairs.

Hu Hankang arrived at Gu Chen's door and skipped the door-knocking, slamming it open with a palm strike, and shouted, "Where's Gu Chen? Come out and face your death!"

The room was empty except for the sound of running water from the bathroom.

Gu Chen, who was taking a shower, frowned upon hearing the commotion outside and coldly asked, "Who let you in?"

This voice... it sounded somewhat familiar.

Hu Hankang was slightly surprised but didn't dwell on it, saying, "You've offended someone recently, haven't you?"

"I've offended many people, can't remember them all at once," Gu Chen replied truthfully.

However, to Hu Hankang, this sounded like a provocation. Enraged, he shouted, "Arrogant brat, do you think you're some storm-stirring dragon? Get out here and face your death!"

With a bang, the bathroom door opened. Gu Chen, wrapped in a towel, stood proudly at the door, his cold gaze slowly falling on Hu Hankang.

Instantly, Hu Hankang felt as if a fierce beast was staring at him, making him shiver.

To make a grandmaster sense danger, this boy was not to be underestimated.

While Hu Hankang was on guard, he quickly looked up. But when he saw who it was, he almost dropped his jaw, instinctively swallowing, "It's... it's you!"

No wonder the voice sounded familiar earlier.
