SBDSI Chapter 24: The Identity of the Major Shareholder

 ## Chapter 24: The Identity of the Major Shareholder

A blatant display of power and arrogance only made Qin Qi’s face darken. She raised her head to look at the smug expression in front of her, feeling a wave of disgust.

"There's no need, General Manager. I will work hard on my own," she said directly.

Being rejected, Yu Xiong’s expression changed, becoming visibly displeased.

"Qin Qi, do you know who you are talking to? You’re just a newly hired employee," he said with a raised hand, his voice loud and clear.

The commotion attracted the attention of many around them, but no one dared to step in to help Qin Qi.

"Qin Qi must be crazy, daring to talk back to Manager Yu. He’s the head of the Market Research Department; firing her would be too easy."

"Yeah, it’s better for her to apologize. Offending Manager Yu will not end well."

"Qin Qi has really caused big trouble this time."

Qin Qi’s body trembled with anger, feeling an intense fury towards the man’s attitude. However, she was fully aware that she couldn’t afford to offend him.

She bit her lip and lowered her head, apologizing softly, "I’m sorry, Manager Yu. I didn’t mean to."

Yu Xiong shot her a cold glance, feeling superior.

"Come to my office later," he ordered, turning to leave.

Qin Qi clenched her fists, grinding her teeth in frustration. "That guy is so despicable, always causing trouble for me. If he weren’t also a company shareholder, he wouldn’t have his current position."

Chu Ping, watching the scene, stroked his chin thoughtfully. The shareholders' meeting was about to start soon. Glancing at Qin Qi, he left her with a parting remark.

"I have some business to attend to. I’ll come find you another day."

As he turned to leave, Qin Qi’s face showed a mix of regret and apology.

"Sorry for getting you involved in this," she said.

Chu Ping gave her a reassuring smile before stepping into the elevator.

He needed to understand his shares in the company better if he was to help Qin Qi.

With this in mind, Chu Ping entered the elevator, pressing the button for the 30th floor. Just before the doors closed, Yu Xiong entered as well.

Yu Xiong, still visibly irritated, looked at Chu Ping with disdain.

"Kid, stay away from Qin Qi. With your status, you’re not qualified to associate with our company’s people," he sneered.

With a snort, he pressed the button for the floor where the shareholders' meeting was to be held, surprised to see it already lit.

"You’re going to the 30th floor too?" he asked, puzzled.

Chu Ping remained calm, replying evenly, "Is there a problem?"

Yu Xiong laughed mockingly.

"Do you even know what’s on the 30th floor? That’s the conference level for our company, Amazon. You, an outsider, dare go there? Aren’t you afraid of being thrown out?"

Chu Ping chuckled, responding with equal ease, "Who says I’ll be thrown out?"

Yu Xiong’s face darkened further. "You don’t know your place. This is our company’s territory, and you think you belong here? I’m a shareholder of Amazon, holding 3% of the total shares worth over 2 million USD."

Hearing this, Chu Ping finally understood. If 3% of the shares equaled over 2 million USD, his 30% shares were indeed quite valuable.

Seeing Chu Ping remain silent, Yu Xiong assumed he had intimidated him.

"Ha! Now you’re scared, aren’t you? Leave now; this place isn’t for you!" he said, gesturing dismissively.

Chu Ping, unfazed, said, "I’m afraid it’s not me who should be leaving."

Yu Xiong’s face twisted with anger. "What did you say?"

As he spoke, the elevator doors opened on the 30th floor. Spotting several security guards nearby, Yu Xiong’s patience snapped.

"Security, get over here and throw this intruder out!" he bellowed.

"This place is off-limits to outsiders, and he has no right to be here. Get him out now!"

The security guards, hearing Yu Xiong’s command, hurried over.

"What’s the matter, Manager Yu?" one asked.

"Who is this guy, and why is he here?" another questioned.

Yu Xiong pointed at Chu Ping, barking, "He’s just an outsider who somehow got in here. This is our company’s conference floor, and he has no right to be here. Throw him out now!"

The guards turned to Chu Ping, preparing to act, but Chu Ping’s calm statement stopped them in their tracks.

"I’m also a shareholder of this company. Do you have the authority to throw me out?"

The guards froze in shock.

Yu Xiong was stunned for a moment, then laughed.

"Are you joking? You, a shareholder? How many shares do you supposedly own?"

"If you’re lying, I’ll have you arrested for trespassing," Yu Xiong threatened.

Chu Ping met his gaze coolly, replying, "Believe it or not, I own 30% of the shares."

Both the security guards and Yu Xiong’s faces changed drastically.

"The major shareholder with 30% shares is him?" one guard exclaimed.

"No way, he’s so young. I heard he’s the largest shareholder in Amazon China," another muttered.

Yu Xiong’s face contorted in disbelief. He knew a major shareholder was supposed to attend the meeting, but he never imagined it would be this young man in front of him.

Refusing to accept it, he demanded, "Stop lying! Show me your proof of shares."

The guards, still eyeing Chu Ping with a mix of suspicion and respect, stepped forward.

"Excuse me, sir, are you Mr. Chu Ping?" one asked.

"We received notice that the major shareholder attending today’s meeting is a Mr. Chu. Is it you?" another inquired.
