Chapter 592: He Used to Be the Best, But Then Ye Xiu Came

At the intersection, Ye Xiu stopped the car. A beautiful woman with long, flowing hair, wearing a pink trench coat and flesh-colored thermal leggings, got in.

"Hello, heading to... wow, you're so handsome, driver!" The woman's initially aloof demeanor vanished as her eyes lit up, staring directly at Ye Xiu. She seemed to have found her type.

Ye Xiu smiled, "Thank you for the compliment. Are you going to Boya Community?"

"No, no," the woman shook her head.

Ye Xiu looked at the navigation, which showed Boya Community, and hesitated, "No? Then where are you headed?"

The woman's eyes sparkled, and she blushed, "To your heart~"

Whoa, she was flirting!

Ye Xiu smiled slightly, "Sorry, that road is closed~"

The woman looked puzzled: ????

After dropping the woman off at Boya Community and under her reluctant gaze, Ye Xiu drove away gracefully. He completed a couple more Didi rides before receiving a call from Dean Lin Hongshan, who mentioned that a critically ill patient had been admitted to Xuan Ke Hospital. The case was complex, and he hoped Ye Xiu could come and help discuss the surgical plan.

Ye Xiu hung up and drove to Xuan Ke Hospital.

...

In the hospital's surgical conference room, Ye Xiu entered to find Dean Lin Hongshan and several senior surgeons from Xuan Ke Hospital deep in discussion. Among them was Xuan Ke Hospital's former top surgeon, Xue Qingtian. The group looked troubled, but upon seeing Ye Xiu, they smiled with relief.

Lin Hongshan said, "Boss, you're here! Please take a look at this case. Should we proceed with this surgery, or is it better to decline?"

Even Xue Qingtian, who had once been the hospital's top surgeon, now wore a smile that seemed almost deferential. He said, "Boss Ye, please take a look. How can we reduce the risk for this surgery?"

In the past, Xue Qingtian was the pinnacle of Xuan Ke Hospital's surgical team, considered the best. But since Ye Xiu arrived, Xue had to settle for second place. Ye Xiu's surgical techniques were unlike anything Xue had ever seen, only vaguely familiar from ancient medical texts. Ye Xiu, the owner of Xuan Ke Hospital, was now its strongest asset. Xue Qingtian had once thought of matching his granddaughter with Ye Xiu, but now he had completely abandoned the idea. This was a big shot who even Xue had to sit down and listen to like a student.

Ye Xiu smiled at the group, then picked up the test results and reports from the table, frowning slightly.

Su Yaya, age 18. Diagnosis: Multiple cardiac myxomas.

Ye Xiu examined the chest X-rays and was taken aback. There were at least four or five tumors in the heart. While cardiac myxomas are generally benign, they are challenging due to their location. An incorrect move during surgery could result in permanent complications, such as impaired blood flow, leaving the patient disabled. In severe cases, it could cause immediate fatal bleeding. This patient had multiple tumors, increasing the risk significantly. The procedure required very precise incisions and would take at least 12 hours, possibly longer. Fatigue could become a significant risk during such a lengthy surgery.

The difficulty and risks of the surgery were high, and Ye Xiu's serious contemplation made Lin Hongshan, Xue Qingtian, and the others remain silent, waiting for his decision. They knew that if even Ye Xiu hesitated, they certainly couldn't take on the surgery.

As they were discussing the surgical plan, the door burst open. A middle-aged man with an aura of wealth and a worried expression hurried in, exclaiming, "Doctors, have you come up with a plan? My daughter can't wait any longer!"

After speaking, the man, Su Shangan, scanned the room and his eyes locked onto Xue Qingtian. Recognizing him, Su Shangan's face lit up, and he quickly approached, grasping Xue Qingtian's hand sincerely, "Mr. Xue, you must be Mr. Xue, right? Wonderful! If you're here, my daughter's surgery must be in good hands, right?"

He then turned to Lin Hongshan, saying, "Dean, don't worry about the cost; I'll pay whatever it takes. Just please save my daughter!"

Turning back to Xue Qingtian, Su Shangan pleaded, "Mr. Xue, please take on my daughter's case!"

Xue Qingtian, looking troubled, replied, "Your daughter's condition is very complex. I'm afraid I can't do it alone; we need another experienced surgeon."

Hearing this, Su Shangan felt his hope dim. If even Xue Qingtian couldn't handle it, who in the entire capital could?

"I'll do it. The surgery is complex, but manageable," Ye Xiu stated, examining the reports.

Hearing this, Su Shangan turned to Ye Xiu, ready to express his relief, only to see a young man in his early twenties. He froze, full of doubt. If even Xue Qingtian couldn't guarantee success, how could this young man?

Su Shangan looked at Xue Qingtian in disbelief, but Xue Qingtian nodded with a slightly awkward smile, saying, "If he says he can do it, then it's possible."

Su Shangan was even more confused. Lin Hongshan chuckled, "Mr. Su, don't worry. If Dr. Ye says it's doable, then your daughter will be fine. In our hospital, if Dr. Ye is second, no one dares claim first. Rest assured!"

Su Shangan glanced at Xue Qingtian, puzzled: Wasn't Mr. Xue the top doctor? Why did Lin Hongshan say Dr. Ye was the best?

Xue Qingtian, feeling a bit embarrassed, smiled without saying anything. Indeed, he used to be the best, but then Ye Xiu came along.

Though he didn't fully understand the situation, Su Shangan knew Lin Hongshan wouldn't joke about something so critical. So he earnestly shook Ye Xiu's hand, saying, "Dr. Ye, please save my daughter. I will be immensely grateful."

Ye Xiu looked at him and calmly withdrew his hand, "No need for thanks. Please step outside; we need to discuss the surgery details."

"Oh, right, I'm being too forward," Su Shangan said, slapping his forehead and chuckling as he left the room. "I'll leave my daughter in your capable hands. Thank you!"

After Su Shangan left, Ye Xiu turned to the others with a serious expression. "Alright, everyone, listen carefully and take notes on my instructions."

Xue Qingtian blinked, "Aren't we going to discuss the surgical plan?"

Ye Xiu smiled, "This surgery isn't as difficult as it seems. I've already devised the plan; you just need to follow my lead."

Xue Qingtian was taken aback: He had figured out the plan just from a glance at the test results? Well, Ye Xiu was the boss, so whatever he said must be right.

Ye Xiu then issued a series of orders. After ensuring everyone understood, he changed into surgical attire, and the team headed to the operating room.
