Chapter 566: "Old Ye, You've Driven That Hyundai Like It's an F1 Race Car!"

"Ding, you helped a couple bring their child to the hospital, reward: five million in cash!"

"Ding, you helped the nurse scare away her troublesome cousin, reward: ten million in cash!"

Very nice.

Driving the car, listening to the system notifications, Ye Xiu smiled broadly. He opened the app, ready to take another order.

Suddenly, his phone vibrated. Ye Xiu glanced down and saw it was a call from Old Li at the police station.

Due to a series of events in the past, Ye Xiu had a good relationship with the police. After all, he had helped them solve many cases, which was a big help. Moreover, with Li Qilin's connections, Ye Xiu now had a decent rapport with the police station.

But why was the police station contacting him now?

"Hello, Old Li, what's up?" Ye Xiu answered the call.

On the other end: "Old Ye, come to the station. We need to talk."

Ye Xiu: "What's up?"

Old Li: "What's up? Did you treat the streets as a racetrack? Get over here quickly!"

Beep, beep, beep...

The call ended.

Ye Xiu then remembered that earlier, to get that family to the hospital on time, he had run quite a few red lights. One... two... three... five... seven...

Alright, he couldn't even keep count anymore~~

But luckily, this time Ye Xiu had a valid reason. If he explained the situation, the police might understand.

Immediately, Ye Xiu turned the car around and headed straight for the police station.

At the police station.

Ye Xiu stood with Old Li and a few officers in front of a computer screen. Everyone was staring at the screen. It was displaying the traffic conditions around Xuan Ke Hospital in the capital.

On a 20K high-definition screen, it was divided into several small squares, each showing a different section of the road.

In the top-left corner of one of the squares.

Whoosh!

A blur zipped past, almost as if something flew by. The camera only captured the tail end of a car.

...

About ten seconds later, in the third square of the first row.

Whoosh!

Another blur zipped past~~

Then the fourth square of the second row.

The eighth square of the fourth row.

And so on...

The officers watched as a silver streak flashed from one square to the next.

To an uninformed viewer, it might seem like the screen was malfunctioning.

After playing through the footage, one of the officers started slowing down each section of the recording. Gradually, it became clear what the blur was~

It was actually a car~~

A young officer patted Ye Xiu on the shoulder, laughing: "Old Ye, impressive. You've driven that Hyundai like it's an F1 race car. If it weren't for the footage slowing down ten times, we wouldn't even know it was your car speeding past!"

Ye Xiu: "..."

Old Li, looking helpless, said: "Old Ye, this is too much. Look at this screen."

Old Li pointed at the screen, clearly exasperated: "You've treated the roads of the capital like a racetrack! Mind telling me how long it took you to cover this entire route?"

Ye Xiu gave a dry laugh: "It took five minutes."

Gasp.

The young officer's eyes lit up with admiration.

Old Li, covering his face, seemed overwhelmed.

"Old Ye, that's insane. Covering such a long route in just five minutes? Were you in a hurry to fly?"

Old Li, feeling exasperated, said: "Now, the entire route was recorded. Let's see. Red lights, you ran thirteen in total. Forced five cars to stop. Overtook thirty-eight cars! Your speed must have been at least one hundred and twenty, right?"

Ye Xiu turned and smiled: "Started at two hundred and eighty."

Gasp! Old Li's eyes widened, his scalp tingling: "Bro, were you racing to your grave or what~~"

Then, with a look of resignation, Old Li glanced at Ye Xiu, indicating there was nothing he could do to help.

Seeing this, Ye Xiu shrugged and laughed: "No worries, I had a reason for driving so fast."

"A reason? What reason?" Old Li asked.

Ye Xiu then recounted the story of how he had rushed to take the family to the hospital.

Old Li and the other officers relaxed their brows, nodding: "If that's the case, then it's simple."

The young officer nodded: "Yes, if you were speeding and running red lights to save lives, then it's a good deed. You can avoid the penalties. But you'll need to bring that family here to testify. That way, your good deed can exempt you from the violations. The state encourages good deeds."

"Alright, I'll call the hospital to get their contact number."

Without wasting any time, Ye Xiu took out his phone, called the hospital, and obtained the family's contact number.

"Hello, who is this?" A man's voice answered.

Ye Xiu calmly said: "Hello, I'm the Didi driver who took you to the hospital today. I was in a rush to get you there, so I ran a lot of red lights. Now I'm at the police station... Hello? Hello? Hello?"

Beep, beep, beep...

Ye Xiu was stunned.

The call had been abruptly ended.

Well, that's just great, they've turned their back on me already?
