GDYARVE # Chapter 5: You're Not Fair!
# Chapter 5: You're Not Fair!
Watching the comment "once" float across the screen, Bobo was stunned.
"This isn't considered a curse word, right? It's just a habit!" Bobo glared at the screen, insisting she was just used to it and didn't mean to curse.
But the viewers in the comments didn't care about her excuses, adamantly insisting she had used a curse word.
"Fine! I'm not someone who backs down. Once is once. Fifty bucks, I can handle that!"
"Everyone, keep track for me. We'll settle up before the end of the stream today!"
Bobo didn't argue further with the viewers, thinking it was just a one-time thing.
As soon as she said that, the comment section went silent. Those typing "once" stopped immediately.
The entire livestream room fell eerily quiet.
'Hippo, move the water cup off the table, or it might spill later.'
'Yeah, move the cup. Put it aside. It might spill.'
'Typical! "The Water Spilled!"'
...
Bobo frowned. What streamer doesn't have a water cup on their table? Talking nonstop makes your mouth dry!
She picked up her water cup and suspiciously said, "My cup has a fixed base, so it won't spill."
But no matter what she said, the viewers insisted she move the cup.
Sister Zhou was watching Bobo's stream and laughed out loud at this scene.
"I didn't do it on purpose, okay? It was just an accident!" Sister Zhou couldn't stop laughing.
Only when everyone confirmed there was nothing on Bobo's table that could affect her gameplay did they allow her to start the game.
"You guys are really strange!" Bobo controlled the character with a hammer, slowly moving forward.
"This operation is a bit tricky." The small hill at the start wasn't much of an obstacle, and swinging the hammer a bit would get her over it.
Bobo continued forward, reaching a rocky wall.
The initial stages were smooth. Even if she fell, she could get back up and continue.
As Bobo got more skilled, she climbed higher and higher.
Though she fell a few times, she kept her promise and didn't curse.
She was very careful during the climbing process, afraid of falling due to a lack of control.
"I finally get it. You all just want to see me curse, right?!"
"I admit it's a bit frustrating, but cursing? It's not that bad."
Bobo confidently shook her head.
But as she got more skilled and climbed higher, falling took longer.
The only constant was the unremarkable little tree she landed next to.
Finally, after another high fall, she couldn't help but speak out.
"Damn it, who makes a game like this?"
"I quit!"
"I'm giving up on this damn game!"
...
At this moment, Bobo adjusted her glasses, her cute and innocent face turning into a relentless stream of curses.
"Why are you cursing, kid!" came a slightly hoarse middle-aged woman's voice from outside the room.
"I lack manners, Mom!" Bobo glared, her face red, her ears burning with anger.
During a break, she glanced at the comments, and what she saw shocked her.
The comments were flooded with "103 times!"
"Damn! Did I curse that much?" As soon as she spoke, she realized, "Damn doesn't count as cursing; it's a habit."
"I can't believe I cursed so much!" She stared at the number with a troubled expression. She knew she had cursed but didn't realize it was that much.
"It hurts! My money!" Bobo pulled out her phone to settle the bill. "This is the most I've ever spent on cursing!"
"I won't do this challenge again. I declare, the no-cursing challenge is over!"
Seeing her fans happily collecting the 103 fifty-dollar red envelopes, Bobo felt her heart bleed.
Remembering the pain from the game, she immediately called someone.
"C-bro, I have a game to recommend. It's really fun! Zhou Zhou recommended it to me!" Bobo said, smiling sneakily.
She could already imagine C-bro getting frustrated.
"Bobo, my viewers recently told me to watch Hippo's frustration documentary."
"I watched the whole thing."
"Bobo, you're not fair!" C-bro angrily scolded her on the call.
...
"Getting Over It" was quickly spreading from person to person.
This frustrating moment was simultaneously happening in countless streamers' rooms.
"Damn it!"
"Hold on, hold on, hold on! Damn, it slipped! Haha, I fell, but not all the way. My miraculous save! Saved a bit."
"Save the kids, save the kids, save..."
...
Song Shan sat next to Ye Feng, switching between different streamers' rooms. Each time, he felt his heart being squeezed.
"Man, you're really harsh!"
"This game is too frustrating." Song Shan took a deep breath and moved closer to Ye Feng, who was typing furiously on his computer.
The screen was filled with strange weapons and settings.
"I'm the most frustrated one here, okay?" Ye Feng looked up, his eyes surrounded by dark circles.
Initially, soul traveling to another world, especially a parallel world barren of games, was a happy thing.
Discovering he had a system only heightened his joy.
But now, he faced one good and one bad piece of news.
Good news: He had a system.
Bad news: The system couldn't upgrade.
"What are you doing? What do you have to be frustrated about?" Song Shan blinked, puzzled. Recently, game sales had skyrocketed, reaching over 200,000 copies.
Each game sold for ten bucks, bringing in over two million already.
The sales curve was still rising, indicating the market wasn't saturated.
And with games, as long as they're fun, more players will continue to buy them, providing a steady stream of income.
At least, the teachers at school assured Ye Feng that with his recent success, his graduation was secure.
"Whenever someone says my game is easy, I feel awful." Ye Feng clutched his chest, genuinely distressed.
"So now... you're designing a new game?" Song Shan glanced at his screen. Unlike the simple hammer-swinging mechanics, this design was much more complex.
Even a quick look revealed that the new game content was far richer than the hammer-swinging one.
"Yes, this time, it'll be so tough they'll cry!"
Ye Feng clenched his fist, determined!
