WIIAD ### Chapter 52: Big Brother!
### Chapter 52: Big Brother!
As soon as everyone got off the plane, the crew members took them straight to the hotel, not giving them any time to explore the sights of Hong Kong.
When they arrived at the hotel, Director Zheng was already waiting for them, accompanied by his usual burly bodyguard. To Qi Lin's surprise, he saw a familiar face.
"Uncle Hong!"
Qi Lin's voice was filled with joy as he hurriedly ran over.
Hong Tai was also pleased to see Qi Lin. He smiled and patted Qi Lin on the back.
"Not bad! You've gotten stronger!"
"Uncle Hong, are you also part of this crew?"
Hong Tai nodded, "I'm here as the martial arts director."
Wang Xiaohua, who had been behind Qi Lin, came forward. After nodding to Hong Tai, she greeted Director Zheng with a bright smile.
"Director Zheng, please take good care of my artist."
"Oh, come on, no need to say that," Director Zheng responded with a humble smile, leading everyone into the hotel.
"There's a banquet tomorrow night, right here at the hotel. It's for everyone to get to know each other better. Those who can drink should drink a bit more because there won't be any drinking allowed once filming starts."
"Don't worry, Director Zheng. My artist doesn't have any bad habits," Wang Xiaohua assured.
After a bit more chatting, Director Zheng left with his bodyguard, while Hong Tai stayed behind, listening to Qi Lin recount some funny stories from previous shoots.
When Qi Lin was almost done, Hong Tai chuckled.
"Didn't I say I'd introduce you to some big shots once you came to Hong Kong? This is a good opportunity! Tomorrow morning, I'm going to visit a set. You come with me!"
This was not a question but a statement!
Qi Lin turned to Wang Xiaohua, who smiled and nodded. "As long as we have time, go ahead. How could Big Brother Hong harm you? Besides, I need to contact Heavenly King Liu tomorrow to ask about the small role he mentioned."
"Then it's settled! I'll pick you up tomorrow morning," Hong Tai said, patting Qi Lin on the shoulder before leaving.
The next morning, Qi Lin went to the set with Hong Tai.
Hong Tai drove a jeep with Qi Lin in the passenger seat, looking at the skyscrapers of Hong Kong through the window.
Hong Tai scoffed, "What's so great about this place? It's overcrowded. Six or seven people live in less than forty square meters, sharing bathrooms."
"The buildings are so close together that there's no consideration for lighting because there's none! In more extreme cases, several people live in rooms the size of capsules, with no way to escape if there's a fire."
Qi Lin was taken aback, "Really? But in the movies, the houses look so beautiful."
Hong Tai rolled his eyes, "You think everyone in Hong Kong lives in luxury homes? Many young people here are crushed by housing costs! It's those greedy businessmen driving up prices."
Qi Lin thought of his own home and felt fortunate. Though the housing prices weren't low, at least there was proper lighting!
After driving for over half an hour, they arrived at the set.
The set was located in a mansion halfway up a hill. As soon as Qi Lin got out of the car, he felt the grandeur of the villas often seen in Hong Kong movies.
However, seeing these mansions in real life, they seemed less impressive than he had imagined.
As soon as Hong Tai got out of the car, the staff at the entrance recognized him. They chatted in Cantonese, which Qi Lin couldn't understand, reminiscent of his school listening exams.
After a few words, Hong Tai patted Qi Lin's shoulder, probably introducing him, so Qi Lin politely smiled at the staff member.
The staff member was friendly, handing them two work passes and leading them inside.
Hong Tai gave Qi Lin one of the work passes and hung the other around his neck, explaining in Mandarin.
"The martial arts community in Hong Kong is small. This guy here is one of my junior brothers."
As Qi Lin looked around the set, he curiously asked, "Uncle Hong, which big shot are you introducing me to today?"
Hong Tai chuckled, "An old big brother of mine! He's very loyal. If he likes you, your path in Hong Kong will be much smoother."
They walked into the villa, and many people recognized Hong Tai, greeting him in Cantonese and looking curiously at Qi Lin.
In the main hall of the villa, five cameras were filming a scene from all angles.
A chubby man in a suit was fighting two black men with powerful and energetic moves. Qi Lin was stunned when he saw the man.
"Big Brother!"
Qi Lin almost exclaimed out loud!
Hong Tai, clearly pleased with Qi Lin's reaction, chuckled, "How about it? Isn't he a big shot?"
Qi Lin nodded repeatedly. If this person wasn't a big shot in the Hong Kong action scene, then no one could claim to be.
The chubby man was none other than the famously agile Sammo Hung!
As everyone knows, there are two major action teams in Hong Kong: the Hung Family Team and the Dragon Family Team.
These two martial arts teams are not only famous in Hong Kong but worldwide. Many movie fight scenes are directed by them.
Jackie Chan, originally from the Hung Family Team, later created his own Dragon Family Team after rising to fame.
Jackie's status in Hong Kong is well-known, with everyone calling him Big Brother.
And Sammo Hung, being Jackie's senior and very loyal, was respectfully called Big Brother.
The first wireless phones were also said to be used by Sammo Hung, which is why they were called "Big Brother."
Regardless of the truth, Sammo Hung is undoubtedly a major figure in Hong Kong, someone who doesn't need to give face to anyone!
Seeing Qi Lin's glowing eyes, Hong Tai felt proud.
He patted Qi Lin's shoulder, "Wait for a bit. When Big Brother takes a break, I'll introduce you. Do your best to make a good impression. Whether he remembers you or not is up to you!"
Qi Lin swallowed and started searching his pockets.
Hong Tai was puzzled, "What are you doing? What are you looking for?"
"Seeing if I have a pen. I want an autograph," Qi Lin replied.
Hong Tai: "… Can you have a bit more ambition?"
...
"Cut! Thank you, everyone. Touch up makeup, check props!"
As the director called "cut," makeup artists and prop masters rushed forward.
Sammo Hung's assistant came over with a towel and a water cup to help him wipe his sweat.
Hong Tai, standing outside, greeted with a smile, "Big Brother!"
This time, he spoke in Mandarin, so Qi Lin heard it clearly.
Sammo Hung was surprised to hear the voice and turned around. Seeing Hong Tai, he smiled.
"Ah Tai, what brings you here today..."
