WIIAD? ### Chapter 32: "Qingcheng" Premieres!

The cinema was packed, mostly with couples or women with their friends. Nowadays, it’s rare to see two men going to the movies together.

Qilin, wearing a mask, sunglasses, and a baseball cap, knew that he probably wouldn't be recognized, but he preferred to be cautious. They bought a row of seats, and Li Yue, the young girl in the group, had bought plenty of snacks.

Soon, it was showtime. They entered the cinema, found their seats, and sat down. The lights dimmed slowly, and the movie began to play.

After the familiar dragon logo, the Tangshi logo appeared! The logo of "Tangshi Media" was very impressive, showing a Tang lion enveloped in flames.

The so-called Tang lion is actually a stone lion often seen in ancient dramas. But after artistic processing, this lion looked extraordinarily majestic!

The movie officially started with the heroine, played by Han Xue, struggling to squeeze onto a bus because her car was in for repairs. Unexpectedly, she ran into her ex-boyfriend, who awkwardly chatted her up, implying that he wanted her to be his mistress and maintain a secret relationship. Han Xue angrily slapped him twice, and the ex called the police on her. Because of this incident, she was late for work and scolded by her boss. Simply put, she was having a terrible day!

After work, she went to pick up her car, and that's when the male lead appeared. The male lead was a very manly guy—sunny, optimistic, and never willing to bow to fate! The actor playing him was a popular young star, whose appearance immediately drew squeals from a few young girls in the audience.

"Wow, Tian-ge is so handsome!"

"Of course, who would come to watch this movie if he wasn't? I'm here just for Tian-ge."

"Me too. But I heard the third male lead is also very handsome."

"Who? Who is the third male lead?"

"Qilin!"

"Qilin? The one from 'Lost Way'?"

"Yes, yes! Have you seen it? It made me cry so much. It was so touching!"

The girls chatted for a bit, then remembered they were in a cinema and quickly quieted down.

In the movie, after meeting the male lead, the heroine's luck started to turn. Through the car repairs, they got to know each other better. The male lead, feeling sympathetic towards this woman struggling alone in the city, began to care for her more and more. She also got promoted at work and became the boss's secretary. This boss was none other than the character played by Qilin, William!

When Qilin appeared, the audience's reaction was even louder than when Tian-ge appeared.

"Oh my god! What kind of godlike looks are these?"

"Isn't this the male lead?"

"If the heroine doesn't marry William, it won't end well!"

Even Qilin himself was a bit stunned. He had no idea he looked so handsome in the movie! His features were striking, his skin fair, and he wore no accessories, yet he gave off a natural, perfect aura. Any adjective describing a handsome man would not be an exaggeration for him!

But Han Xue's character wasn't interested in him at all, even finding him a bit pretentious. Who spends all their time playing the piano?

The story continued with Han Xue meeting a male police officer because of her ex-boyfriend's report. This officer was the second male lead. The plot then unfolded into a typical melodrama, with three men pursuing one woman! The police officer provided a sense of security, the male lead was considerate, and William was domineering. Three completely different men, all falling for the same woman!

In the end, they had a showdown in the rain. It was Valentine's Day, and William called Han Xue, demanding she work overtime. She refused, not knowing that William had prepared countless flowers in the office lobby to confess his love. Used to being aloof, he couldn't express his feelings directly, resorting to threats instead.

This scene made the audience chuckle.

"Oh my, why does this domineering president seem so silly?"

"Silly? If someone treated me like this, I'd give them my heart!"

"I can't understand. Is the heroine blind? Why would she hesitate in choosing among these three?"

The story continued. Under pressure, Han Xue agreed to go to the office. William hurried to prepare, even writing a speech for his confession, adding more humor with his awkwardness. But on her way, Han Xue's car broke down again. With no other choice, she called the male lead for help. He sent an employee to fix her car and drove her to the office himself.

When they arrived, they saw the lobby filled with flowers. Just then, the male police officer also arrived, holding a bouquet. With a glance, the three men realized they were all there for the same woman!

In the face of love, none of them backed down, each expressing their feelings for Han Xue. In the end, she chose the male lead! The police officer left with a bitter smile, while William, played by Qilin, didn't say a word, calling the cleaners to remove the flowers before silently entering the elevator. Only then did his expression crumble.

This scene tugged at the heartstrings of the young girls in the audience. If an unattractive person secretly cried after a breakup, it would be seen as pretentious. But if a handsome person did the same, it was seen as genuine.

In the end, the heroine quit her job and became the boss's wife at the repair shop. The story concluded. After watching the hour-and-a-half movie, Qilin stretched and moved his arms. He was surprised to see that his seven days of filming resulted in so much screen time! It felt less like a third male lead and more like a second male lead. Almost all the footage he shot was used!

As the cinema lights came on, the audience slowly filed out, discussing the movie. Qilin and his friends were among them, listening to the various comments.

"Haha, what a trash movie, with a trash heroine!"

"Exactly, I feel like my thirty bucks were wasted. Is the heroine blind? How could she not choose William?"

"Um, you guys haven't read the original novel, have you? The heroine marries the repair shop owner in the book. They made the movie this way to respect the source material, I guess."

"Yeah, right! Was William in the original novel?"

"Um..."

Hearing the discussions, Wang Xiaohua laughed happily, but Qilin was a bit worried. Once they got into the car, he voiced his concerns.

"Sister Hua, the movie's reviews aren't great. If my first film flops, will any directors still want to hire me?"

Wang Xiaohua chuckled, covering her mouth. "You're worrying too much. Didn't you hear those girls talking about you? As long as you're popular, film offers will come flooding in."
