SRGA Chapter 209: The Joint Action of the Two Families

Conrad said, "Are you so lacking in confidence?"

August shook his head, "There are differences even among grandmasters. Both you and I are grandmasters, but you're a mid-stage grandmaster. If we fought, I would undoubtedly lose."

"However, if I fought you, even if I couldn't win, I could escape."

"But if I fought Grandmaster Lin, I feel that my chances of escaping are slim."

Conrad frowned, "We can also step on leaves to fly, and our speed wouldn't be slower than his."

"But he might still be hiding some of his strength."

August said solemnly, "I don't think it's just possible that he's hiding his strength; I'm certain he is."

"The typhoon in Hayama changing direction, the lightning strikes at the Onmyoji Society in Higashi Sakura, the earthquakes, the volcanoes—these were all caused by him."

"Do you have such abilities?"

Conrad shook his head, "Of course not. But these things may not have much to do with martial arts."

"This is related to what they call Feng Shui in China. Martial arts utilize one's own strength, while Feng Shui utilizes the power of the heavens and the earth."

August said, "I know about Feng Shui. I've encountered some powerful Feng Shui masters from China."

"But they are far inferior to Grandmaster Lin."

Conrad nodded slightly, "Do you think Grandmaster Lin at least has the cultivation of a late-stage grandmaster?"

August shook his head.

"I feel he has reached the consummate stage of a grandmaster. He has started to show himself only because closed-door cultivation is no longer effective."

"He might be seeking a new way to break through his current realm."

Conrad frowned.

He was a mid-stage grandmaster. If Lin were a late-stage grandmaster, he could escape even if he couldn't win.

If Lin were a consummate grandmaster, in a one-on-one fight, he would likely be doomed.

"August, your words make my fresh blood seem less sweet."

Conrad sighed.

August said, "That's a minor issue. I'm afraid you'll sleep less soundly in the future."

Conrad: "..."

"Why did you come here? Do you want us to secretly get rid of Lin Tian? That would offend Grandmaster Lin."

August said, "Perhaps we could join forces to pressure Lin Tian into not marrying Princess Karina."

"The Kingdom of Wano is in Europe; they shouldn't overstep their bounds."

Conrad chuckled, "Old friend, I think you're overthinking. According to my information, Lin Tian has a very good relationship with Luo Bingning."

"They're preparing to get engaged."

August was silent for a while, "What if Karina is willing to be Lin Tian's lover?"

"You're joking; she's a princess of the Kingdom of Wano."

Conrad shook his head.

August frowned, "Our family has pressured the royal family quite hard. For the sake of the royal family, it's not impossible for her to secretly become Lin Tian's lover."

"If they reach out now, it won't be easy to make them pull back later."

Conrad pondered.

Joining forces to "advise" Lin Tian—if successful, all would be well. If they failed, the Tudor family would be in trouble too.

The two families had a good relationship and were in contact, but they were still two different families with different territories and core interests.

The Tudor family's sphere of influence was in Sweden, while the Bruch family's sphere of influence was in the Kingdom of Wano (Norway).

"Old friend, it's a bit late now. Stay here for the night, and I'll think it over," Conrad said after a while.

"Alright."

August nodded, "If we join forces, with the influence of our two families, Lin Tian will back down."

Conrad smiled, "Old friend, your room is always ready for you. I'll have someone show you the way."

"Hmm."

Conrad quickly had someone take August away.

"Son, come over here."

Conrad made a phone call.

His son didn't live in this castle, or even in the same city, but within half an hour, Conrad's son arrived by helicopter.

"Father."

The Marquis Lambert, son of Conrad, respectfully said.

Lambert is now the head of the Tudor family, but his status is still not as high as his father's.

The reason is simple.

He is a Marquis with only the strength of a martial master, while Conrad is a Duke with the strength of a martial grandmaster.

In the blood clan, titles and strength are strictly correlated.

“Is there anything going on with the family lately?” Conrad routinely inquired, as he would always ask about family affairs when Lambert came over.

Lambert hesitated a bit and said, “Father, there is one thing. Gerald went to China, and he brought back two small bags of blood.”

Gerald is his grandson.

Conrad frowned, “It's best to avoid China, but nowadays it’s not like before. Bringing back two bags of blood isn’t a big deal.”

Lambert cleared his throat, “It’s the blood of Lin Tian's parents.”

He had tasted the blood that Gerald brought back.

“What?” Conrad’s expression changed.

“Father, he lured Lin Tian's parents into donating blood, then had someone take away the blood bags.”

“He wanted to know if the blood of Lin Tian's parents had any special properties. In fact, we tasted it and found no special effects,” Lambert said.

He and Gerald’s father, Earl Karen, had both drunk some of it.

“Did their people notice?” Conrad asked sternly.

Lambert cleared his throat and said, “The bodyguards of Lin Tian's parents are quite skilled. They discovered the blood was taken.”

“But they can't possibly trace it back to us.”

Conrad frowned, “Nothing is impossible. Have you forgotten about that hacker who infiltrated the Underworld?”

“Father, it shouldn't be that serious—” Lambert's expression changed slightly.

Conrad said sternly, “You are now the head of the family. It's best to consider everything thoroughly and not be careless.”

“Yes, father.” Lambert nodded, “Father, you called me over because—”

Conrad explained the situation with August.

“I originally wanted to discuss with you whether our Tudor family should get involved in this matter.”

“Now it seems we must get involved,” Conrad frowned.

The fact that their family members stole and drank the blood of Lin Tian’s parents would infuriate Lin Tian if he found out.

If they don't stand with the Bruch family now, they might be in trouble in the future even if the Bruch family isn’t.

“Father, with the strength of our Tudor family and the Bruch family, these should be minor issues.”

“We’ve weathered countless storms over the past thousand years,” Lambert said confidently.

“Hmm.” Conrad nodded slightly.

Lambert asked, “Father, should we send family members over or send the controlled blood slaves?”

Conrad considered for a while and said, “Send Karen over. Sending blood slaves would seem disrespectful.”

“Besides, there’s a risk of blood slaves losing control.”

Lambert nodded.

Conrad said, “Go the day after tomorrow. He just drank the blood of Lin Tian’s parents; don't let Lin Tian notice anything unusual.”

“Yes, father.”

Conrad waved his hand, and Lambert left.
