SED Chapter 7: The Restaurant Owner
As Liu Zixia lifted his head, he suddenly realized that the restaurant was completely silent, so quiet that you could hear a pin drop.
Little Moon, being so young, didn't understand the lyrics of the song, but she could still tell whether a song was good or not.
"Daddy, you sang so wonderfully, so amazingly! I'm so happy!" Little Moon clapped her hands excitedly, like a cheerful little bird.
Liu Zixia lovingly pinched Little Moon's nose and said, "As long as Little Moon is happy!"
Hearing their conversation, the diners, who had been deeply immersed in Liu Zixia's singing, finally came back to their senses. The restaurant then erupted with applause and cheers, one wave after another.
"Buddy, what's the name of that song? It was so good! Sing it again!"
"This song has to be an original! This guy is so talented!"
"Do you have any other songs? Sing another one!"
The restaurant, usually peaceful and calm, instantly became lively, with all the diners looking excitedly at Liu Zixia standing on the small stage.
The song was really good!
Despite the diners' enthusiasm, Liu Zixia remained calm. He hadn't forgotten how they had reacted after Little Moon's piano performance earlier. Except for that couple, no one had cheered, and they hadn't even given basic polite applause.
Liu Zixia wasn't usually petty, but Little Moon was his precious treasure. Considering how the diners had behaved, he wasn't about to be polite or courteous to them.
"Daddy, you're amazing!"
Amidst the cheering diners, Little Moon looked very excited. She gazed up at Liu Zixia with admiration, her big eyes sparkling like little stars.
"Does Little Moon like this song?" Liu Zixia asked gently.
"Uh-huh!" Little Moon nodded her head, her smile making her eyes squint. "I like it!"
"Daddy will sing to you every day from now on, okay?" Liu Zixia said, stroking Little Moon's head.
"Okay!" Little Moon tilted her head, looking at Liu Zixia. Suddenly, she held out her little hand and said, "Daddy, let's pinky promise!"
"Alright, let's pinky promise!" Liu Zixia extended his pinky finger and hooked it with Little Moon's right pinky.
Little Moon's lips moved: "Pinky promise, hang it on a hook, no changes for a hundred years, seal it with a stamp!"
"Haha, seal it with a stamp!" Liu Zixia, having never experienced this before, laughed so hard his mouth nearly reached his ears.
...
Ignoring the diners, Liu Zixia picked up Little Moon and returned to their table to eat.
The diners, however, were not pleased. Having heard such a beautiful song, they hadn't had enough yet.
"Hey, buddy, which entertainment company are you with?"
"Buddy, is that a new song? What's its name?"
For a moment, the scene became chaotic, with many diners excitedly crowding around Liu Zixia's table, chattering non-stop.
Seeing the crazy diners, Little Moon clung to Liu Zixia's arm in fear, not daring to move.
Noticing the fear on Little Moon's face, Liu Zixia frowned and stood up abruptly, shouting, "That's enough!"
His voice was cold, carrying a hint of anger.
The diners were stunned by Liu Zixia's outburst.
"We came here to eat, not to perform in a restaurant." Liu Zixia looked calmly at the surrounding diners. "I don't want you to disturb me and my daughter while we're eating. Please be quiet, thank you!"
"Alright, alright, everyone go back to your seats and continue eating!"
The restaurant owner, Zhang Minghao, who had been watching from the side, took the opportunity to bring a few waiters over. With a gentle smile, he explained and calmed the diners, guiding them back to their seats.
"My name is Zhang Minghao, I'm the owner of this restaurant. May I know your name?" Zhang Minghao asked with a warm smile, extending his right hand to Liu Zixia after dispersing the diners.
Liu Zixia had already noticed Zhang Minghao. After all, anyone who could direct the restaurant staff was either the owner or the manager.
"My surname is Liu." Liu Zixia shook hands briefly with Zhang Minghao and said, "Thank you, Mr. Zhang."
"Mr. Liu, there's no need to thank me. If anything, it's our restaurant's fault for disturbing your meal." Zhang Minghao waved his hand and then looked at Little Moon. "Is this your daughter?"
"Yes, this is my daughter, Little Moon." Liu Zixia nodded. "Little Moon, say hello to Uncle Zhang."
Peeking out from behind Liu Zixia, Little Moon timidly said, "Hello, Uncle Zhang!"
"Ah, Little Moon is so adorable!"
Zhang Minghao smiled at Little Moon and took out a hairpin from his pocket, handing it to her. "I'm sorry for scaring you earlier. I don't have anything special with me, so here's a small hairpin as a little gift from our restaurant to our lovely Little Moon."
The hairpin was pink with a cute yellow tiger on it, looking very playful.
Little Moon was immediately attracted to the hairpin. She looked up at Liu Zixia, her eyes full of longing.
"Little Moon, don't forget to thank Uncle Zhang."
Although he didn't understand why Zhang Minghao was being so kind to Little Moon, Liu Zixia didn't refuse the goodwill, as the hairpin wasn't particularly valuable.
Little Moon reached out and took the hairpin, saying sweetly, "Thank you, Uncle Zhang!"
"Little Moon is so well-behaved!"
Zhang Minghao was no fool. He could see how much Liu Zixia treasured Little Moon. If he wanted to get closer to Liu Zixia, Little Moon was the best way to do so.
"Daddy, can you help me put it on?" Little Moon looked up at Liu Zixia after admiring the hairpin for a while.
"Of course!"
Liu Zixia smiled as he combed through Little Moon's hair, undoing her long ponytail. With a quick twist of his fingers, he fashioned a cute bun.
The new hairstyle made Little Moon's features more pronounced, making her look even more adorable.
Seeing the joy on Little Moon's face, Liu Zixia realized he hadn't been paying enough attention to her.
Recently, he had been busy with graduation and moving, focusing only on her nutrition and forgetting to buy her nice clothes, toys, and accessories.
Thinking back, Little Moon was still wearing the same outfit from when he first met her.
"Thank you, Mr. Zhang!" Liu Zixia said sincerely.
"Mr. Liu, you're welcome," Zhang Minghao said, waving his hand. "My daughter is about the same age as Little Moon. Seeing her reminds me of my own daughter."
"Mr. Zhang, if you don't mind, would you like to join us?" Liu Zixia, recognizing Zhang Minghao's goodwill, invited him.
"Wouldn't that be an inconvenience?"
Zhang Minghao, pleased, glanced around at the diners still discussing Liu Zixia and said, "Mr. Liu, how about this: we have some private rooms upstairs. I'll ask the head chef to prepare a few special dishes, and we can have a good chat in a private room?"
Liu Zixia glanced at Little Moon and, seeing her nod, politely agreed. He picked up Little Moon and followed Zhang Minghao upstairs.
