ROSGT ### Volume 1, Chapter 87: From Today On, The Title of Music Godfather is Yours

The song "Nine Hundred Ninety-Nine Roses," although a classic and a rare gem that even a star like Chu Qingci would want, didn't suit Ye Ling's sweet and fresh voice. Ye Cui had plagiarized songs from another world to promote Ye Ling. Since this song wasn't suitable for Ye Ling, it held little value for Ye Cui. Selling it to Zhou Ming for a single yuan was merely a way to slap Lin Xin in the face.

And it worked spectacularly. Lin Xin's face turned pale with rage. Chu Qingci's expression also changed. "Nine Hundred Ninety-Nine Roses" was an exceptional song. Although Ye Cui's "Love Transactions" was also high-quality, it couldn't match the emotional depth of "Nine Hundred Ninety-Nine Roses." And now, Ye Cui had casually given it to Zhou Ming for just one yuan! She had originally intended to buy it for two hundred thousand yuan!

Chu Qingci wanted to say something, but recalling her neutral stance, she wisely kept quiet. She thought that since Zhou Ming was her junior fellow disciple, she might be able to get the song from him later.

Cao Kang sneered, "You think selling that song to someone else for one yuan will make me angry? Who do you think you are? I will have that song!"

He glanced at Fang Xi and Fang Nan. Earlier, seeing them had shaken him, but then he remembered an incident from two years ago that had made headlines in the elite circles of Yanjing. The main characters were this pair of siblings. Given that incident, Cao Kang felt he had nothing to fear from them anymore. Fang Nan might have beaten him once, but that was in the past...

"What do you want to do?" Ye Cui asked.

Cao Kang sneered, "You sold the song to Zhou Ming for one yuan, so he owns it. I want to buy it from him. Name your price!"

Zhou Ming was shocked, and so were Ye Cui and Fang Nan. Ye Cui had sold the song for one yuan to slap Cao Kang and Lin Xin in the face. But if Cao Kang bought the song back, it would be Ye Cui who ended up losing face.

"The highest price for a good song in the industry is around fifty thousand yuan, right? Mr. Fang's work is in that range. I'll offer one hundred thousand yuan for 'Nine Hundred Ninety-Nine Roses.'" Cao Kang said smugly, casting a contemptuous glance at Ye Cui. It was as if he were saying, "I have money; money can buy anything. How can you, a poor wretch, compete with me?"

Ye Cui frowned and looked at Zhou Ming. He had sold the song to Zhou Ming because he knew Zhou Ming was a fan. Now, could Zhou Ming be trusted?

To Zhou Ming, who had just signed with a record company, a hundred thousand yuan was a significant sum. But...

Strangely, Zhou Ming wasn't tempted at all. He looked at Ye Cui with a determined expression and shook his head at Cao Kang, "I don't want to sell it."

Cao Kang's face changed. "A hundred thousand yuan wasn't enough? You're just trying to raise the price!"

"Two hundred thousand yuan!" He said.

"No, I don't want to sell it," Zhou Ming replied without hesitation.

Cao Kang was furious, "Don't push it! Two hundred thousand yuan for a song is already a fortune. Last offer: three hundred thousand yuan!"

"No matter what you offer, I won't sell it," Zhou Ming said firmly, moving to stand beside Ye Cui and Fang Nan, as if ready to face Cao Kang together.

Cao Kang was livid. "You think siding with Ye Cui will get you anywhere? You won't get another chance like this. I'll make sure you regret it."

"I won't regret it," Zhou Ming said, bracing himself.

Cao Kang couldn't believe it. "What makes Ye Cui so special that you're willing to go this far for him?"

"You say he can't write another great song like 'Nine Hundred Ninety-Nine Roses'... Let me correct you," Ye Cui said.

"You think you can write another song of that caliber?" Cao Kang sneered.

Ye Cui didn't answer directly. Instead, he looked at Fang Nan, who pulled a notebook from her bag and handed it to Mr. Fang, "These are the songs Hammer wrote recently, about twenty in total. Mr. Fang, as the music godfather, you should be able to see their value."

Mr. Fang was puzzled but took the notebook. He hummed the songs under his breath as he read. His expression quickly turned to shock and awe. He glanced at Ye Cui, his eyes full of amazement, disbelief, admiration, and respect. He eagerly continued reading.

The room fell silent as everyone watched Mr. Fang's reaction.

After half an hour, Mr. Fang finished reading and closed the notebook. He walked over to Ye Cui and bowed deeply, stunning everyone.

What he said next shocked them even more—

"Mr. Ye, from today on, the title of Music Godfather is yours."
