ROSGT Chapter 89: The Peach Blossom Hero vs. The Chrysanthemum Monster

"Let's go!"

Cao Kang could no longer bear to stay there. He spoke to Lin Xin and, without waiting for a response, turned and walked out of the private room. This place made him feel very oppressed.

Lin Xin also knew that staying here would only invite trouble, but she still gave Ye Chui a meaningful look before following Cao Kang out.

Ye Chui understood the meaning behind Lin Xin's final glance. He sneered, showing his undisguised contempt. He knew Lin Xin's character well and was very accurate in labeling her a "green tea bitch." Lin Xin probably still wanted to gain some benefit from him.

"I really want to see what shameless things this woman plans to do next," Ye Chui thought coldly.

With Cao Kang gone, the atmosphere in the room seemed to become more lively.

Chu Qingci walked up to Ye Chui with a friendly face, admiringly saying, "Mr. Ye, I didn't expect that besides writing songs, you are also the mysterious Professor X. You don't know, I've always loved playing Lei Lei Kan, but I'm not very good at it. If you have time, you must teach me."

Ye Chui sneered internally. This woman was quite an actress. When Cao Kang was here, she acted indifferent, but now that she knew Ye Chui's extraordinary identity, she immediately changed her attitude.

His already low opinion of Chu Qingci dropped even further.

Ye Chui smiled faintly, "I only developed the game. I'm not very good at playing Lei Lei Kan, so I can't teach you much."

"How can that be? You must be better than me," Chu Qingci quickly said.

Ye Chui was about to refuse again, but Fang Xi suddenly chimed in, smiling, "Qingci, I'm an expert at Lei Lei Kan! My highest record is reaching the eleventh level. Even Brother X can't match me in gaming. How about I teach you instead?"

Chu Qingci glanced at Fang Xi with some annoyance. She had never actually played Lei Lei Kan; she just said that to get closer to Ye Chui. She had no interest in learning from Fang Xi. Her real aim was to get her hands on that notebook Fang Nan had.

Of course, she couldn't say this outright.

Chu Qingci knew that her earlier behavior probably made a bad impression on Ye Chui, so she had to rebuild a friendly image.

So, she chuckled and said to Fang Xi, "Really? Then I must thank you in advance."

"No need to thank me. I believe you'll be a good student," Fang Xi replied with a smile.

No one noticed that Fang Xi's attitude towards Chu Qingci had undergone a significant change. Before, he treated her like a goddess, speaking cautiously to avoid making her uncomfortable. But now, he spoke more casually and even joked a bit.

The reason for this change was Chu Qingci's earlier behavior, which had greatly disappointed Fang Xi. In his mind, she had fallen from a goddess to just a pretty woman who didn't deserve much respect.

It was evening, and Ye Chui, Fang Nan, and Fang Xi had come with the intention of having a meal, not expecting to waste nearly an hour on such events. Now, they were very hungry, so Ye Chui invited everyone to sit down at the table.

Chu Qingci sat next to Ye Chui, trying to use the meal to get closer to him.

But perhaps intentionally, Fang Xi sat between Ye Chui and Chu Qingci, and Fang Nan sat between Fang Xi and Ye Chui.

As a result, Chu Qingci ended up sitting the farthest from Ye Chui, even farther than Zhou Ming.

"Qingci, let me tell you some tips for playing Lei Lei Kan. I'm an expert in this field..." Fang Xi started rambling on.

The private room was luxurious, with a large table for ten. With this separation, Chu Qingci could only listen to Fang Xi's boring game strategies, while pretending to be interested and occasionally showing surprise, "Oh, really?"

Inwardly, she was raging, "Damn fatty, what nonsense are you talking about? This is so boring! That notebook... no matter how much it costs, I must get it. With those songs, my fame can reach new heights, and I can become a top-tier superstar!"

In the entertainment industry, whether as an actor or singer, fame could be categorized into several levels: unranked, third-tier, second-tier, first-tier, top-tier, and internationally renowned. Chu Qingci was currently just a first-tier star.

Zhou Ming, sitting next to Ye Chui, felt a bit uneasy. But it wasn't because Ye Chui was a newly crowned music godfather; it was because of Ye Chui's identity as Professor X.

As a gaming enthusiast, Professor X was his ultimate idol. Now, his idol was sitting right next to him, making him extremely excited.

The music godfather title only added to Ye Chui's appeal.

However, Zhou Ming didn't pester Ye Chui too much. After asking a few questions that only a true fan would care about, like Ye Chui's hobbies, he moved aside to give Ye Chui and Fang Nan some privacy.

"That Cao Kang seemed very afraid of you?" Ye Chui asked softly, playing with the food on his plate.

"Yes." Fang Nan nodded. "About three years ago, I beat him up."

"Are you familiar with him?"

"Not really. People in that circle often organize gatherings to maintain connections. I wasn't interested but had to attend. I don't remember why, but I beat him up. He was in the hospital for a few months," Fang Nan replied.

Ye Chui was speechless. No wonder Cao Kang was scared; he had been hospitalized for months after the beating.

But Ye Chui also noticed that Cao Kang's fear was momentary. He quickly calmed down, as if Fang Nan and Fang Xi were not worth fearing.

Ye Chui thought of something and continued asking, "You once told me you and Fang Xi left that lifestyle. That lifestyle refers to people like Cao Kang, right? If I'm not mistaken, there is a Fang family among the big families in Yanjing."

Fang Nan nodded, "Yes, Fang Xi and I are direct descendants of that Fang family. But now, we have nothing to do with them."

"Cutting ties with the family?"

Ye Chui tentatively asked, "What happened between you? Can you tell me?"

"Actually, it's nothing much. We just couldn't stand the coldness and cruelty in that big family..." Fang Nan said, her voice trembling slightly.

She was enduring some kind of pain.

There was definitely a story behind it.

But Ye Chui didn't press further. He reached out and patted Fang Nan's shoulder to comfort her.

Ever since realizing Fang Nan's true nature as a tough girl, Ye Chui had always seen her as wild. But now, he felt a certain delicate, pitiable quality in her. Her toughness might just be a facade to protect herself in a cold, unfeeling family.

The meal was soon over.

When Zhou Ming went to pay the bill, Ye Chui remembered the real purpose of coming here. He took out a music score and handed it to Chu Qingci, "This is the score for 'Love's Deal.' I consider this song a gift to you. In return, I hope you can take good care of Xiao Ling."

Although Master Fang had declared Ye Chui the heir to his music godfather title, whether it would hold any weight was uncertain. Ye Chui needed to make more preparations.

"Don't worry, Mr. Ye. Once Xiao Ling signs with my company, I'll take good care of her," Chu Qingci said with a smile as she took the score. But her eyes instinctively glanced at Fang Nan's bag—the notebook was her real goal.

"How about we go see a movie later?" Chu Qingci suddenly suggested.

She hadn't had much chance to talk to Ye Chui and didn't want to give up.

"A movie?" Ye Chui was interested. He hadn't watched a proper movie since coming to this world. So he asked, "Is there anything good showing now?"

"There happens to be a fantastic martial arts blockbuster. I play an important role in it," Chu Qingci quickly said with a smile. "The movie is called *The Peach Blossom Hero vs. The Chrysanthemum Monster*!"
