Chapter 83: Big Star Development Plan

Hearing that Chu Qingci agreed to sing "Love Transactions," Ye Chui was delighted. Chu Qingci's powerful and beautiful voice would surely bring out the best in the song. More importantly, with Chu Qingci being a superstar, her support could help his sister Ye Ling smoothly enter the entertainment industry.

Besides "Love Transactions," other songs like "Moon Over the Sea," "The Most Dazzling Folk Style," and "The Horse-Taming Man" could also be given to her to sing...

This was Ye Chui’s plan to cultivate a singer for these divine songs.

"Can you sing 'Love Transactions' for me again?" Chu Qingci asked. Although she was highly talented in singing, she couldn’t remember the entire song after hearing it just once.

"I have the sheet music. I’ll give it to you when I get a chance," Ye Chui said with a smile. He planned to discuss Ye Ling’s entry into the entertainment industry with the superstar later—part of his plan to develop a big star.

Chu Qingci nodded. "Sure, no problem. I don’t have any performances or events coming up, so you can contact me anytime. Here’s my contact number."

As she spoke, Chu Qingci gave Ye Chui her number.

Ye Chui was exceptionally talented, effortlessly creating a song like "Love Transactions." She naturally wanted to maintain a good relationship with him.

Ye Chui noted her number.

Chu Qingci coughed lightly. "What’s your contact number? Also, shouldn’t we formally introduce ourselves?"

"Oh," Ye Chui said, providing his contact number and introducing himself, "I’m Ye Chui."

—His tone was rather casual.

Since Ye Chui wasn’t a fan, he didn’t feel the need to be overly enthusiastic about Chu Qingci.

Fang Xi couldn’t wait to introduce himself. "I’m Fang Xi, Brother Cha’s good buddy."

Chu Qingci glanced at Fang Xi, her brows furrowing slightly. She had been in the entertainment industry long enough to recognize that Fang Xi was a fan. His eyes had been fixated on her since the beginning—how annoying.

Unfortunately, the man in the wheelchair, Ye Chui, didn’t seem interested in her. He had only given his contact number because she had asked for it...

If Ye Chui were her fan, things would be much easier.

Despite her thoughts, Chu Qingci maintained a warm demeanor, nodding at Fang Xi before turning to Fang Nan. "And you are?"

"She’s my sister, Fang Nan," Fang Xi answered quickly. "She’s kind of dating Brother Cha."

"Kind of?" Chu Qingci was puzzled, never having heard such a term to describe a relationship.

Fang Nan blushed and lightly punched Fang Xi. "What nonsense are you talking about?"

Ye Chui gave Fang Nan an amused look.

At that moment, the recording studio door opened, and Ye Ling walked out. After over an hour of recording and six takes, she had finally perfected "Ningxia."

Seeing Chu Qingci outside, Ye Ling was surprised. "Chu Qingci, what are you doing here?"

"Hehe, I’m a friend of your brother," Chu Qingci said with a smile. "I heard you want to enter the entertainment industry. We might be colleagues soon."

Ye Ling’s eyes widened in surprise. How did her brother know someone as famous as Chu Qingci?

Ye Chui rolled his eyes. Chu Qingci was quite forward, claiming to be friends after just a few words.

However, since she was so enthusiastic, Ye Chui decided not to be too cold. He smiled and said nothing.

Ye Ling, a big fan of Chu Qingci, didn’t hesitate to ask for photos and autographs once she learned that Chu Qingci was her brother’s friend. Fang Xi also joined in, insisting on taking photos with Chu Qingci and even forcing his contact number on her, regardless of whether she wanted it.

Chu Qingci managed, glancing at Ye Chui, but noticed he was whispering something to Fang Nan, seemingly uninterested in the photos and autographs.

This left Chu Qingci somewhat disappointed.

Chu Qingci was also there to record songs. Though the songs she had weren’t fit to be lead singles, they were good enough for the album. After a few more words with Ye Chui, she left.

Ye Chui, Fang Xi, Fang Nan, and Ye Ling left the recording studio.

Just as they were leaving, Li Wei rushed to Chu Qingci. "Qingci, where’s the disabled man? Why did they leave?"

Li Wei had been on the phone with Fang Lao, but it took a while to reach him. By the time he got back, Ye Chui and the others had already left.

"They left after finishing their business," Chu Qingci said, resuming her haughty demeanor and touching up her makeup. The photo session with Fang Xi had smudged her makeup.

"They left?" Li Wei panicked. "I just spoke to Fang Lao. He’s on his way here. Why did they leave?"

"Fang Lao is coming?" Chu Qingci was surprised but then smiled. "Call him again. I’ll be meeting with Ye Chui in a couple of days to discuss the song. We can meet him together then."

Hearing this, Li Wei nodded quickly. "Alright, I’ll inform Fang Lao."

After Li Wei left, Chu Qingci finished fixing her makeup. She hummed a few lines from "Love Transactions," finding the song’s catchy lyrics increasingly appealing. She smiled coolly, "This Ye Chui is quite something. I need to make the most of this connection. Even if he’s not my fan, Fang Xi and Ye Ling are. That’s enough."

She snapped her makeup mirror shut.

...

"Chu Qingci shook my hand. Her hand is so soft. I’ll never wash my hand again," Fang Xi said wistfully on the way back, caressing his right hand with his left.

Fang Nan couldn’t help but knock on her brother’s head. "Don’t be disgusting. If you don’t wash your hand, I’ll kick you out of the house."

Ye Ling blushed, hugging Ye Chui’s arm. "Brother, how do you know Chu Qingci? She even said she’s your friend."

"We just met. She was being forward, claiming to be friends," Ye Chui explained.

Ye Ling was surprised. Did he call Chu Qingci forward?

"Your brother sold her a song, probably her new album’s lead single. That’s why she’s so eager to be friends," Fang Nan explained. She was pleased that even a superstar valued Ye Chui’s work so much.

However, she also felt a bit uneasy. Chu Qingci’s gaze at Ye Chui didn’t seem entirely professional...

Ye Ling was even more excited. She hadn’t expected her brother to write songs that could become Chu Qingci’s lead singles. But then, she wasn’t surprised. After all, he wrote "Ningxia," so writing something for Chu Qingci wasn’t a big deal.

Fang Xi turned to Ye Chui and asked, "Brother Cha, how much are you selling 'Love Transactions' to Chu Qingci for?"

"For free," Ye Chui replied.

"For free?"

"It’s just a song, but with conditions. She has to help promote Ye Ling and make her a star," Ye Chui said with a smile. He could tell that Chu Qingci’s outward purity and kindness were just a façade. In the entertainment industry, everything was about benefits. Working with her was mutually beneficial.

Using a few divine songs to secure her support, all to make his sister a star!

Ye Ling, touched, leaned in and kissed Ye Chui’s cheek. "Brother, you’re so good to me."

"Hehe, you’re my sister. Of course, I’ll be good to you." Ye Chui said with a calm smile, but inside he was overjoyed. Well, he thought, maybe I am a bit of a sis-con.
