### Chapter 74: Exclusive Arcade Equipment

By the time Ye Chui finished his interview with a journalist from Yanjing TV Channel 1, it was already 1 PM.

In just one hour, "Street Fighter" had achieved 300,000 downloads on the game store!

This download count represented actual purchases, meaning Ye Chui had sold 150,000 copies of "Street Fighter 1" in just one hour. At ten yuan per copy, this amounted to 1.5 million yuan.

Given this trend, "Street Fighter" reaching over a million downloads seemed entirely feasible. With the revenue from this game, Ye Chui would finally have the funds needed for his leg treatment.

As Fang Nan pushed Ye Chui away from Tiandi Mall after the interview, a smile spread across Ye Chui's face.

"Chui Chui, I rarely see you this happy. What are you thinking about? Let me guess, you're thrilled about 'Street Fighter's' success, right?" Fang Nan asked with a smile.

"I am happy, but not just because of 'Street Fighter's' success. It's also because of my legs," Ye Chui said, rubbing his legs, which had no sensation. "I can finally start my treatment…"

Ye Chui had a clear purpose for developing games from the start: to earn money for his leg treatment.

Fang Nan's expression changed slightly as she cautiously asked, "Chui Chui, you've never mentioned it before. What exactly happened to your legs?"

Ye Chui hadn't told Fang Nan or Fang Xi about the car accident because every time he thought about it, he couldn't help but think of Lin Xin, the two-faced girl, which made him burn with anger. His initial goal in developing games was to fund his leg treatment, but after that, he intended to seek justice.

The rich kid who had hit him with his luxury car and showed no remorse had to face the consequences of his actions!

Ye Chui's face turned somber at this thought.

Just as he was about to speak, a man with an even more somber expression walked up to him. It was Huang Xiaotian.

This man, in his thirties, exuded a meticulous air, with veins bulging on his forehead. He clenched his fists tightly, his eyes fixed menacingly on Ye Chui.

Fang Nan subtly moved closer to Ye Chui, ready to prevent the angry man from acting out.

"What do you want?" Ye Chui asked calmly. He didn't know Huang Xiaotian; this was their first meeting. However, seeing the resentment in Huang Xiaotian's eyes, Ye Chui could guess who he was—a staff member from SB.

"I'm Huang Xiaotian," the man said in a low, hoarse voice. "You better remember this name because it will haunt you. I admit I underestimated you before, but not anymore. Professor Ye, I now acknowledge you as my rival, and I will personally defeat you!"

With that, Huang Xiaotian turned and left.

Fang Nan breathed a sigh of relief. "I thought that guy was going to hit someone… Chui Chui, his name is Huang Xiaotian. I've heard of him; he's the manager of the software development department at SB Brain Company."

"Oh, no wonder he acts so arrogant," Ye Chui nodded, understanding why the man was so angry. He recalled that when he first contacted Wang Zhaoming to join SB, Wang had sought permission from a manager named Huang before rejecting him. They made it clear that SB would never accept his work, treating Ye Chui as insignificant.

But now, this "insignificant" person had handed them a humiliating defeat. Huang Xiaotian had every reason to be furious.

However, Ye Chui had more reason to ignore him.

"Let's head back. I don't want to encounter anyone else who knows me and gets us surrounded again," Ye Chui told Fang Nan, completely disregarding Huang Xiaotian. In the realm of gaming, Ye Chui considered himself unparalleled, not caring about others.

The incident with Huang Xiaotian also halted the conversation about Ye Chui's legs.

Fang Nan hailed a cab, and they returned to their apartment.

Fang Xi and Robert didn't return until 3 PM.

As soon as they burst into the apartment, Fang Nan, holding a feather duster, started beating them. With her fierce demeanor, she looked like a fierce landlady, if only she had a few hair rollers in her hair.

Sitting in his wheelchair, Ye Chui watched Fang Nan hitting Fang Xi and Robert, who were scurrying around trying to avoid her blows. He couldn't help but think that while Fang Nan didn't look like a fierce landlady, she certainly was a stunningly beautiful one, even when wielding a feather duster.

"You were supposed to release the game at noon, so what were you two doing!? Seeing zero downloads at first scared me to death!" Fang Nan scolded as she wielded the duster.

"It's all Robert's fault!" Fang Xi quickly shifted the blame, "If he hadn't hacked those arcade machines and installed 'Street Fighter,' I wouldn't have gotten so hooked and forgotten the time!"

"How can you blame me? Fang Xi, you're so unfair!" Robert protested in a strange accent.

"Stop passing the blame. You both are responsible!" Fang Nan wasn't hearing their excuses, swinging the duster with vigor.

Ye Chui realized what had happened. When Fang Nan had pushed him back into the arcade earlier, he had seen the crowd around the machines. He was surprised that "Kung Fu Kid" could attract such a crowd. Now he understood—it was because Fang Xi and Robert had hacked the machines and installed "Street Fighter." It made sense why so many people were so engrossed.

"Brother Ye!" Fang Xi, panting and dodging blows, finally ran to Ye Chui for help. "Brother Ye, you have to help me… I have something important to tell you."

"What is it?" Ye Chui asked with a smile.

"Someone approached me at the arcade today, their boss, Zhang Xing!" Fang Xi hurriedly took out a business card from his pocket and handed it to Ye Chui. "He said he wants to collaborate with you!"

"Collaborate?" Ye Chui was puzzled.

Fang Nan, seeing that Fang Xi had serious business to discuss, temporarily spared him and curiously asked, "What kind of collaboration?"

"It's about the arcade machines…"

Fang Xi explained—

Zhang Xing had placed arcade machines in his arcade through a collaboration with SB Brain Company. However, he hadn't anticipated that SB's "Kung Fu Kid" would be so disappointing, while the "Street Fighter" he initially overlooked turned out to be a huge hit.

When Fang Xi and Robert hacked the machines to run "Street Fighter," it drew a massive crowd. This made Zhang Xing realize the potential of combining arcade machines with "Street Fighter." He wanted Ye Chui's authorization to continue installing "Street Fighter" on his arcade machines.

It's worth noting that although SB Brain Company developed the arcade machines, they were actually a collaboration with a mechanical manufacturer. Since SB's game didn't run well on the machines, the manufacturer was now more willing to have Ye Chui's game on them.

"Zhang Xing owns over a dozen large arcades and bought over a hundred arcade machines from SB," Fang Xi concluded. "These machines were initially running 'Kung Fu Kid,' but it's clear that 'Street Fighter' is a much better fit. Zhang Xing is willing to collaborate with you long-term. He'll buy the rights to run your games on his arcade machines."

Ye Chui's eyes lit up. This was an unexpected bonus!

Ye Chui had been frustrated about not being able to play these classic fighting games on arcade machines. He hadn't anticipated that SB would develop arcade machines, essentially giving him a perfect platform for his games.

Furthermore, since arcade machines were now available, Ye Chui intended to dominate that market.

He had the confidence to do so!

Ye Chui contacted Zhang Xing using the business card.

They eventually agreed on a licensing fee: for the next year, Zhang Xing could run "Street Fighter" on his over a hundred arcade machines for 100,000 yuan.

This was just the beginning. Ye Chui anticipated that others would also see the business potential of combining arcade machines with "Street Fighter" and would come to him for licensing rights, bringing in significant revenue.

"Professor Ye, I look forward to seeing more of your fantastic games," Zhang Xing said at the end of their conversation. "And I hope we can maintain a long-lasting friendship."

"Heh, I hope so too," Ye Chui replied with a smile, knowing these were just formalities. In business, there were no real friendships, only mutually beneficial partnerships.
