Chapter 27 Ominous Sign from Heaven

"What?" Before Ye Chui could react to Jian Fan's request, Fang Nan and Fang Xi had already exclaimed.

Jian Fan's demand was outrageous. Ye Chui's development of "Practice and See" and "Disappear and See" had nothing to do with Jian Fan's studio. This wasn't just excessive; it was extremely excessive!

Seeing the questioning looks from the Fang siblings, Jian Fan hurriedly explained again, "Listen to me first. What I mean is for Ye Chui to make a statement, registering the copyrights of these two games under our Jian Fan Studio. This way, our studio can make a name for itself. As for the profits, I won't touch any of them."

"Oh, that's what you mean." Fang Nan nodded slightly. This request wasn't too excessive, but she was worried Ye Chui would be unhappy, so she quickly looked at him.

Fortunately, Ye Chui still had a faint smile on his face. "Sure, since I've joined the studio, it's only right to do so."

They were just two small games. Was it worth it for him to care so much? After all, he would still earn the money he deserved.

"That's good. With these two games, our studio's reputation will surely spread far and wide," Jian Fan said with a wry smile, feeling a bit regretful. He initially intended to have Ye Chui give up the copyrights of the two games, but in a moment of urgency, he changed his tune. He feared that if Ye Chui refused, it would anger the Fang siblings, which would be a loss.

"Now, let me talk about the studio's operations..." Jian Fan coughed lightly and continued.

The studio's main business was software development. Despite its small size, it was well-equipped.

Before Ye Chui joined, the four members of the studio were all proficient in programming.

Among them, Fang Nan had musical talent and was responsible for some sound effects used in the software.

The chubby Fang Xi had studied painting for a long time, so the art-related tasks were assigned to him.

As for the mysterious Bai Miyun, being a seasoned homebody, she had reportedly published a few good novels. Her text editing skills were excellent, so she handled things like function descriptions and software introductions.

Lastly, Jian Fan was responsible for software ideas, operations, and sales. He had some connections and dealt with other companies. In simple terms, he was the one responsible for getting work.

Hearing the division of duties, Ye Chui pondered quietly to himself—

"To create a game, the four basic skills required are scripting, artwork, music, and programming. The members of Jian Fan Studio fit perfectly: Fang Xi can handle the artwork, Fang Nan can take care of the music, Bai Miyun can manage the scripting, and all of them can do the programming."

Ye Chui's face lit up with joy, thinking that choosing Jian Fan Studio was indeed the right decision.

Ye Chui had made several plans. Although the people in Jian Fan Studio were good, Jian Fan himself was a bit irritating. If Ye Chui wasn't happy here, he would consider moving on. But now he decided—

He would stay, and if anyone left, it would be Jian Fan...

"This Jian Fan Studio is simply a standard game studio setup," he thought. "But Jian Fan himself seems somewhat redundant. When it comes to game production, his connections won't be of any help..."

Jian Fan continued, "As for income, since I am the head of the studio, regardless of whether the studio makes a profit or loss, I will pay Fang Nan and the others their salaries every month. Their current standard is four thousand per month, with bonuses depending on performance. As for you, Ye Chui... your situation is a bit special, so you will get paid based on revenue sharing. Any game adapted from your ideas will earn you thirty percent of the profits. Of course, if you stay with the studio longer, this percentage can increase. How about it?"

This payment method had some of Jian Fan's selfishness. Paying based on revenue sharing could prevent Ye Chui from freeloading in the studio. After all, in Jian Fan's eyes, Ye Chui's only value was providing good game ideas. With this distribution model, if Ye Chui couldn't come up with convincing ideas, he wouldn't earn any income.

Ye Chui could easily understand the implication in Jian Fan's words. He smiled faintly, "Okay, let's do it your way."

In fact, Ye Chui was very satisfied with this distribution model. He would receive thirty percent of the profits from a game, which was a large share. Why not be happy about it?

As for whether he could come up with ideas... did he need to worry about that?

So it was decided. Jian Fan immediately contacted a law firm using the light brain to draft an employment contract.

In the light brain era, all this was very convenient. Many law firms offered online contract services, making it very easy. In just a few minutes, an electronic contract was uploaded to the studio's light brain workstation.

With this electronic contract signed, Ye Chui officially became a member of Jian Fan Studio.

"Chuichui, since you'll be moving into the studio, I've cleared out a room for you on the first floor. Let me show you your room," Fang Nan said once the contract was settled.

As she spoke, she reached for the bag on Ye Chui's lap. The bag contained Ye Chui's clothes and some books, making it quite heavy.

How could Ye Chui let a delicate girl carry such a heavy bag? He quickly tried to decline, but Fang Nan effortlessly lifted the bag with one hand, looking as if it was no burden at all.

She didn't even need to stop pushing Ye Chui's wheelchair with her other hand as she led him to his room.

Ye Chui couldn't help but glance at Fang Nan. Where did this sudden burst of strength come from...

The room was quite nice, about twenty square meters, with some simple furniture and an en-suite bathroom, making it very comfortable to live in.

Fang Nan placed Ye Chui's bag in the wardrobe.

Ye Chui looked around the room and moved his wheelchair closer to Fang Nan. At that moment, Fang Nan closed the wardrobe door with a bang.

She seemed to have used a bit too much force, causing the entire wardrobe to shake. Then, something fell from the top of the wardrobe, landing directly on Ye Chui's head.

—It was a black bra!

And judging by the size, the chest it belonged to wasn't small.

Ye Chui instinctively looked at Fang Nan. The first time Fang Xi contacted him, he had mentioned his sister's measurements. Judging by the size... this bra must belong to Fang Nan, right?

Fang Nan turned around just in time to see the bra in Ye Chui's hands. Her face instantly turned red, and she quickly snatched the bra and hid it behind her back, embarrassedly explaining, "This room used to be mine. I moved upstairs just for you... I must have missed this while packing yesterday. Just pretend you didn't see anything."

"Alright, I saw nothing," Ye Chui said teasingly.

But in his mind, he thought: How could I pretend not to see such an ominous sign from heaven?

Fang Nan, blushing, hurriedly left the room. It was so embarrassing; she hadn't expected to leave her bra behind while cleaning up yesterday...

Ye Chui, meanwhile, looked around the room, wondering if there were any other hidden bras or panties.

Naturally, the division of staff in a game studio isn't this simple. This is just using the most basic roles, borrowing from the setup in Game Dev Story: music, art, text... these roles will also develop in other areas, like entertainment, manga, and novels. Of course, games will still be the main focus.
