Chapter 160: The Comedy Killer's Murder Song Part 2

Blood Fox's Diary: August 16th, xx year, Weather: Overcast. I miscalculated. Since becoming a killer, this is my first time accepting an S-level difficulty mission. It's a challenge for me. But no worries, I will complete this mission excellently, as long as I prepare thoroughly. Ying Sugar Toxin—one of the deadliest poisons in the world, transparent with no color, and a faint sweet taste. Just a drop diluted in a drink, and one sip can paralyze a person's nerves within ten minutes. This is my treasure. This time, the target and that terrifyingly powerful woman won't escape...

Inside the restaurant.

"Chuichui, are you really planning to make a movie?" Fang Nan had heard Ye Chui recount the events and was a bit worried. "You're running a factory, a magazine, a website, and the studio's work... Aren't you overworking yourself?"

Ye Chui patted Fang Nan's hand resting on his wheelchair, comforting her, "It's nothing for me. Most of my energy will still be focused on the game. Don't worry."

The truth was different. Ye Chui did all this because of pressure. He was facing a wave of powerful families. Initially, he only targeted Cao Kang, vowing to fight him to the end, which naturally put him at odds with Cao's entire family. But as Cao's family wasn't the most formidable among the elite families, Ye Chui focused on building his game industry to counter them.

However, after encountering Fang Nan and Fang Xi, Ye Chui realized that just making games wasn't enough. Faced with companies like SB Light Brain, the Fang family, and Lin Xiangfeng, he felt immense pressure, prompting him to bolster his confidence in various ways. Movies, novels, comics—all these ultimately served his games. And games were his foundation to survive in this world and protect those he loved.

Entering the restaurant, Ye Chui quickly spotted the somewhat dejected Zheng Zishan.

Zheng Zishan saw Ye Chui too and quickly stood up, thinking Ye Chui had come to thank him. Though he smiled, his eyes still held a dimness.

"Mr. Ye, thank you for staying behind for me," Zheng Zishan extended his hand to Ye Chui.

Ye Chui shook his hand and sat down at a table.

Soon, a waiter approached to ask what they would like to eat.

It was just after ten in the morning, and Ye Chui and Fang Nan weren't hungry. Ye Chui turned to Zheng Zishan, "Mr. Zheng, would you like something to eat?"

"No..." Zheng Zishan wanted to refuse but suddenly changed his mind, saying to the waiter, "Bring me a bottle of wine."

"Drinking in the morning isn't good," Ye Chui noticed the despair in Zheng Zishan's eyes. He had just been kicked out of the crew by Li Mingxian and was feeling down, seeking to drown his sorrows in alcohol.

Zheng Zishan gave a bitter smile, "I need alcohol to numb myself right now."

"Alright, I'll have a drink with you," Ye Chui turned to the waiter, "Bring us a good bottle of wine and some snacks to go with it."

The waiter nodded and left.

Ye Chui continued, "I want to thank you for what you did in the reception room, but I also feel sorry for getting you kicked out by Li Mingxian."

"It's not your fault," Zheng Zishan shook his head. "I wasn't happy in that crew anyway. Even though I was an assistant director, I was just a gofer... Your script is really good, but it's a pity no one would be willing to make it into a movie."

"That's not necessarily true," Ye Chui said with a smile.

Zheng Zishan looked at Ye Chui, puzzled, "Not necessarily?"

Ye Chui continued smiling, "What if I say I'm willing to invest in making this movie?"

"You want to invest?" Zheng Zishan was initially stunned, then overjoyed. "That's great! Trust me, this script will be a big hit if made into a movie. I have absolute confidence. Can I be involved in the production?"

"Of course!" Ye Chui smiled, "Actually, I brought you here to ask if you'd like to direct the film."

"You... you want me to direct?"

Zheng Zishan was stunned.

He instinctively wanted to refuse. Since making his first film nearly ten years ago, he had experienced repeated failures, dragging down several companies. Eventually, no one dared to hire him, and even those who shared his vision had gradually left the industry. Over the years, his confidence had been shattered.

However, he thought of *The Eagle Shooting Heroes*. If this script were made into a film... it would work!

After a brief pause, he said, his voice trembling, "Really? You'd really give me another chance?"

"Of course," Ye Chui nodded, then his tone shifted. "But... I'm giving you a chance, and you need to prove you're capable of directing this movie."

Looking at Zheng Zishan, Ye Chui asked, "Can you tell me your thoughts on this film?"

This was essentially an interview. Ye Chui wouldn't entrust such an important directorial role to a stranger without some proof of his qualifications.

Zheng Zishan understood this.

After a moment of thought, he began, "Actually, I've been advocating since nine years ago that today's films are too serious. I believe that film art should be freer, more relaxed..."

At that moment, in the restaurant's back kitchen.

Whack!

A waiter's head hit the wall, knocking him out.

Blood Fox removed the waiter's uniform and put it on himself. The uniform had a cap, and he pulled the brim low over his face, checking his disguise in the mirror, feeling satisfied.

He picked up the bottle of wine the waiter had brought out, unscrewed the cap, and took out a small glass vial from his pocket, dripping its clear contents into the bottle.

—Ying Sugar Toxin.

He shook the bottle to ensure the liquid mixed thoroughly, then placed it on a tray and carried it out.

He wanted to act as the waiter and personally watch Ye Chui drink the poisoned wine.

In the restaurant, Blood Fox, holding the tray, approached Ye Chui's table, thinking coldly, "It's a pity those other two will have to die with Ye Chui."

"Sir, your wine is here."

Blood Fox placed the wine and three glasses on the table. His voice was raspy, unrecognizable from before—a necessary skill for any assassin, especially since Fang Nan had heard his voice yesterday.

His cap brim was also low, and his face was nondescript. Without a close look, no one would recognize him as the man from yesterday.

"Your wine," Ye Chui said, noticing Zheng Zishan's lengthy monologue and worrying he might be thirsty.

"I suddenly don't feel like drinking," Zheng Zishan smiled, shaking his head. "Drinking is for sorrow, and I'm not sorrowful now."

"What?" Blood Fox's body trembled. Not drinking?

"Then let's have tea instead," Ye Chui didn't press the matter. Drinking in the morning wasn't healthy anyway. He turned to Blood Fox, "Waiter, can we return this bottle?"

"No... no," Blood Fox quickly replied, trying to keep his voice calm. "Once the bottle is opened, it can't be returned."

"Just leave it here then," Ye Chui said casually.

But Blood Fox wasn't ready to give up. He forced a smile and started pouring the wine himself, saying, "It looks like you three are discussing business. I wish you a successful collaboration. Let me pour the wine for you."

He poured one glass.

"No need," Ye Chui said, seeing Blood Fox reaching for the second glass. He took the glass away, "We really don't want to drink. Don't bother."

"But..." Blood Fox was getting desperate.

Just one sip, a tiny sip, and the target would be poisoned to death!

Instinctively, he reached for the glass in Ye Chui's hand.

Ye Chui instinctively blocked him, accidentally touching Blood Fox's wrist.

"Ah!" Blood Fox couldn't help but cry out in pain as Ye Chui's touch hit the spot injured by Fang Nan yesterday.

"Hmm?"

Hearing the familiar cry, Fang Nan, who had been checking her computer, was surprised. Painful cries were unmistakable.

She looked up and instantly recognized Blood Fox. Standing up in delight, she exclaimed, "It's you!"

"You... you remember me..." Blood Fox was shocked, realizing he had been exposed again!

"Of course, I remember you," Fang Nan said, walking over with a smile.

How could she forget the first person to confess to her since she turned eighteen?

Feeling a bit guilty, she asked, "What are you doing here? Are you a waiter here? I went to the hospital to see you yesterday, but you were already gone. How's your wrist? Does it still hurt?"

"Hehe, it's fine now..." Blood Fox replied nervously.

Ye Chui watched Blood Fox curiously, thinking, so this is the guy who confessed to Fang Nan yesterday. He looks so ordinary but has quite the guts...

Fang Nan, feeling apologetic, said, "It's my reflexes that injured you. I feel really bad about it."

"It's nothing. My wrist doesn't hurt much anymore," Blood Fox continued, thinking quickly for a way out.

"I know my injuries. How could it not hurt?" Fang Nan giggled playfully. Seeing the wine on the table, she picked up a glass and handed it to Blood Fox. "Consider this wine my apology."

"This... this isn't right..." Blood Fox's body trembled.

"If you don't drink it, it means you haven't forgiven me," Fang Nan said, feigning displeasure.

"I... I have already forgiven you..."

"Then drink it! At least take a small sip!" Fang Nan insisted firmly.

Fang Nan didn't like feeling indebted. If Blood Fox didn't drink the wine, it meant he hadn't forgiven her, and she wouldn't feel at ease without his forgiveness.
