#### Chapter 137: I Bought a Watch Last Year
"Nan Nan, it’s really too much trouble for you to drive. Let’s just call a taxi."
"Calling a taxi is such a hassle, and I always feel unsafe with taxi drivers. What if there's an accident?"
"There won't be..."
"What do you mean there won't be? Many drivers are exhausted after driving all day, and it’s easy for accidents to happen."
"I’ve never heard of that. Even if it happens, it’s rare."
"But we can't take the risk. Come on, Chuichui, let me carry you to the car."
"Let's call a taxi. Hey, Fang Xi, help me persuade your sister."
"Sis..."
"Fang Xi, tell Chuichui how good my driving skills are! Chuichui, let me tell you, I’ve wrecked at least five cars before, and I'm known as the car’s worst enemy, but I never got hurt. Isn't that impressive?"
"That sounds even more terrifying..."
"Chuichui, just sit in the car peacefully."
"How can I be peaceful..."
With Fang Nan’s assistance (or coercion), Ye Chui reluctantly got into the sports car and sat in the passenger seat. Realizing the situation was irreversible, he resigned himself to his fate, strapping himself in tightly with the seatbelt, his face resolute.
Fang Nan, beaming, sat in the driver's seat and adjusted herself, a look of excitement on her face. "It's been so long since I drove, I almost forgot which is the brake and which is the accelerator."
Ye Chui: "..."
With a pleasant roar of the engine, the car started. Then, with a loud "boom," the sports car crashed into the garbage bin outside the apartment, sending the lid flying.
Fang Nan's voice came from the car, "Damn it, who put the garbage bin here!"
Fang Xi: "It’s always been there..."
The car reversed, adjusted its direction, and sped off again. Fang Xi wiped the sweat from his chubby face. "Chuichui, good luck..."
The next twenty minutes were the most thrilling and nerve-wracking of Ye Chui’s life since his rebirth. His heart was in his throat, his hands gripping the car seat tightly, his face pale as if he were undergoing some unspeakable torture.
Several times the car, due to sharp turns, lifted one side of its body a meter high before thudding back down. Even movie stunts weren't this outrageous...
When the car finally, miraculously, came to a stop outside Tianyang Biological Research Institute, Ye Chui felt a sense of post-traumatic relief, as if he had narrowly escaped death.
Fang Nan, feeling accomplished, said, "We got here half an hour faster than a taxi."
"I’d rather be late by that half hour..." Ye Chui muttered.
Weak and exhausted, he was helped back into his wheelchair by Fang Nan, who then wheeled him into the research institute.
At the gate, the guard wouldn't let them in. Last time, they had been accompanied by Zuo Xiaoyou. Since this was a research facility, regular people couldn't just walk in. Ye Chui had to contact Qian Xiaomai.
"I’ll send someone to get you," Qian Xiaomai's clear voice came from the portable brain.
So Ye Chui and Fang Nan waited at the entrance. During this time, Ye Chui started to recover and thought about Lin Xiangfeng. Knowing the schedule, Lin Xiangfeng would probably come over to try to bond with Fang Nan. Actually, Lin Xiangfeng had been contacting Fang Nan periodically since their last meeting. However, most of the time, Fang Nan barely talked to him, treating him as just another acquaintance, not paying him much mind.
Ye Chui had a feeling that Fang Nan was somewhat averse to reconnecting with people from her past. If it weren't for the potential help Lin Xiangfeng could provide to Ye Chui, she might not bother with him at all. This deeply moved Ye Chui.
Of course, Lin Xiangfeng wouldn’t miss this chance to belittle Ye Chui—Ye Chui had a few words ready for him too.
Soon, a little girl in a red dress came bouncing out of the institute. She looked about seven or eight years old, with pigtails that bobbed with each step.
She was adorable, with fair and tender skin, looking like a porcelain doll. She was heading straight for Ye Chui and Fang Nan.
"Is this little girl the one Qian Xiaomai sent to get us?" Ye Chui was slightly puzzled.
Seeing the girl, Fang Nan couldn't help but smile, "She's so cute, just like a little doll."
"She is indeed quite cute," Ye Chui agreed, nodding.
As they spoke, the girl reached them and looked up at Ye Chui in the wheelchair, "Are you Professor Chui?"
Hearing this, Ye Chui was pleasantly surprised, "Little sister, do you like playing games?"
"Yes, I love games. I'm really good at them. I can beat Street Fighter, Fatal Fury, and Double Dragon with one life." The girl boasted proudly, showing off her shiny little tiger teeth, making her even more adorable.
Ye Chui couldn’t help but laugh, "You're amazing."
"Yeah, yeah. Last time, I wanted to participate in the Street Fighter tournament, but Qian Xiaomai wouldn’t let me. Hmph, if I had participated, I would have definitely won first place." The girl pouted, seemingly very upset.
Ye Chui found this even more amusing, "My friend won the first place. If there's a chance, I'll have him compete with you. If you can beat him, then you'll be the rightful champion."
Hearing this, the girl’s face lit up with an innocent smile. Curious, Ye Chui asked, "Is Qian Xiaomai your sister?"
"She's definitely not my sister." The girl made a troubled face and put her hands on her hips. She winked at Ye Chui, "I'll tell you a secret, I'm planning to run away from home. Do you support me, brother Chui?"
"Uh..."
Ye Chui was speechless. A little girl saying she wanted to run away from home and asking for his support?
And what was with "brother Chui"?
Ye Chui didn't take her words seriously and smiled, "You want to run away? Then I support you."
"Hehe." The girl giggled adorably. But a sly glint flashed in her eyes as she sneaked a glance at the parked car...
"Little sister, what's your name?" Fang Nan crouched down, gently ruffling the girl’s hair.
Anyone would be fond of such an adorable presence, even a tomboy like Fang Nan.
"Sister, my name is Wang Shiyu," the girl replied with a smile.
"Wang Shiyu? That's a beautiful name," Fang Nan praised.
After getting to know Wang Shiyu, Ye Chui and Fang Nan followed her into the institute, as the guard seemed to recognize her and didn’t stop them.
Wang Shiyu hopped along energetically, full of sweet innocence, making Ye Chui and Fang Nan feel joyful as well.
However, Ye Chui’s mood soon soured.
Ahead, on the forest path, Lin Xiangfeng was walking towards them, dressed in a white coat, looking quite professional. He must have been notified by the guard outside and came to meet them quickly.
"Xiao Nan!" Lin Xiangfeng greeted them with a smile, "Why didn't you tell me you were coming? I could have come to pick you up."
"No need for the trouble," Fang Nan replied, holding Wang Shiyu’s hand, not even glancing at Lin Xiangfeng.
Lin Xiangfeng's face darkened.
He directed his anger towards Ye Chui, smiling condescendingly, "Mr. Ye, I hope you recover soon. If you need any help, feel free to ask. As Xiao Nan’s friend, I’ll do my best to assist you."
Though the words sounded polite, the underlying tone was clear to anyone.
Ye Chui chuckled, "No need to trouble you, but I do have something to say."
With that, Ye Chui motioned for Lin Xiangfeng to come closer.
Lin Xiangfeng, puzzled but smiling, leaned in, "What, you need my help but are too shy to say it out loud?"
Ye Chui whispered coldly into Lin Xiangfeng’s ear, "I bought a watch last year!"
With that, Ye Chui turned to Fang Nan, "Nan Nan, let’s go."
"Okay."
Fang Nan responded, telling Lin Xiangfeng they were leaving and pushed Ye Chui further along the path.
Lin Xiangfeng stood frozen, his face livid.
Fang Nan treated him like an ordinary acquaintance, unwilling to exchange more than a few words.
More importantly—
What did Ye Chui’s "I bought a watch last year" mean?
"I bought a watch last year, I bought a watch last year..." Lin Xiangfeng muttered, then suddenly realized, "WQNMGB?"
It took a moment for the insult to register, making it hit even harder.
"Damn it! Damn it!" Lin Xiangfeng’s eyes flashed with a maniacal glint...
But what angered him even more was—
"Chuichui, what did you say to Lin Xiangfeng? You were so secretive," Fang Nan asked curiously as they walked away.
Ye Chui chuckled, "I told him his zipper was down."
"Oh."
Fang Nan and Wang Shiyu both responded with an understanding "oh."
Although they were some distance away, the quiet environment
