AFVSIBS Chapter 227: The Pop Princess Becomes More of a Fangirl
After finishing her call with Zhou Chen, Wan Fangfang immediately called Li Qiankun.
"Assistant Li, great news, fantastic news," Wan Fangfang said excitedly.
"Good news? What good news?" Li Qiankun was puzzled.
"It's about Zhou Chen's appearance on the Spring Festival Gala; there's been a new development."
"What's the situation? Did you manage to persuade him?"
"I don't have that ability, but I made a bet with him. If he loses, he'll agree to accept the invitation to the Spring Festival Gala," Wan Fangfang explained.
"A bet? What kind of bet?" Li Qiankun became curious.
"It's like this..."
Wan Fangfang recounted the conversation she had just had with Zhou Chen.
"So that's how it is. It just adds a chance for Zhou Chen to be on the Spring Festival Gala. We can't be sure of the final result yet."
"Yes, it's an opportunity, but I think it's a significant one. Assistant Li, you've been in the industry for years. You know many celebrities have had fake donation scandals, but none have been exposed, and certainly, none have been banned because of it."
"That's true, but the fake donation amount in Chen Xiaoyu's case is enormous. It's hard to say. We'll see what happens in the next few days," Li Qiankun, being cautious, said. After all, a fake donation of a billion is no small matter. If it's confirmed that Chen Xiaoyu faked it, he could be severely criticized by netizens and banned from the industry, despite being a top star.
On Zhou Chen's end, after finishing the call with Wan Fangfang, he didn't go online to check on the matter. To him, he wasn't much interested in these issues. If Wan Fangfang hadn't called him, he wouldn't have known about it.
"Zhou Chen, I'm in Hangzhou," Yang Hanhang sent a message.
"Okay."
Zhou Chen replied with a single word.
This cold reply almost drove Yang Hanhang mad. So many rich young men would be eager to get a response from her, yet she never replied to them. Now, she's actively updating Zhou Chen on her whereabouts, and he's indifferent?
But who made him Zhou Chen, her first love?
Although Yang Hanhang was angry, she couldn't help but continue texting Zhou Chen, "Hey, what are you doing? The first is coming soon. How's your song preparation going?"
"Just finished a call with Sister Fangfang, now going for a walk. The song is ready."
Zhou Chen's reply, though longer than before, was still brief.
This left Yang Hanhang puzzled, wondering if he had no interest in her. But she remembered that he once said if he truly liked someone, he wouldn't care about age differences.
With these thoughts, Yang Hanhang felt a bit more at ease.
"Never mind. If he doesn't like me, I can pursue him. Who says I can't chase after a guy?"
A voice within Yang Hanhang encouraged her. Previously, she had never thought about actively pursuing a guy. But now, having met someone she likes, she felt she could do it. Otherwise, what? Wait for love to fall from the sky?
"Alright, you go for your walk. I need to take a shower. Bye."
Knowing Zhou Chen's habit of early to bed and early to rise, she didn't want to disturb him further. After sending the message, she put down her phone and went to take a shower.
As she turned on the shower and leaned against the wall, she couldn't help but recall that night.
"Did Zhou Chen look at me intentionally back then?" she wondered.
"Get some rest. I'm going to sleep. Goodnight."
After her shower, she saw Zhou Chen's message and smiled happily. This was Zhou Chen's first time saying goodnight to her. Even though it was just a simple sentence, to Yang Hanhang, it felt like a significant step forward.
"Okay, got it. Goodnight."
She quickly replied, her tone gentle and practiced.
Zhou Chen didn't continue the conversation. Seeing it was about time, he turned off his phone and had a good night's sleep.
The next morning, he woke up feeling refreshed and ready for the day. Wan Fangfang texted, saying she wanted to have breakfast together.
Zhou Chen had no objections. After breakfast, he planned to go fishing. Otherwise, he would be bored staying there.
"Zhou Chen, you can't cook in Asu City. Why go fishing?" Wan Fangfang asked curiously.
"I'm not fishing to eat the fish or to add to lunch or dinner," Zhou Chen explained.
"Then it's to pass the time?"
"Sort of, but mainly to find inspiration. Do you know why I can create songs so quickly? It's because my inspiration comes from being alone, and fishing is the best way to think alone."
This wasn't entirely true, but Zhou Chen said it to make his quick songwriting process seem more reasonable.
"Got it. So, do you want me to go fishing with you?" Wan Fangfang asked.
"I'll go alone. You don't like fishing, and it's not appropriate. You should catch up with your classmates or go wherever you want," Zhou Chen suggested.
"Alright, I won't bother you then. Solve your lunch yourself. We'll talk about dinner later."
Wan Fangfang didn't like fishing, especially with the fear of mosquitoes biting her. So, it was best not to go. She could meet some classmates or friends instead.
After breakfast, they went their separate ways.
Zhou Chen had already searched online and found a nearby river called Nanliu River, with a nice environment and plenty of fish. More importantly, there were some fishing gear shops by the river where outsiders could rent fishing gear and return it after use for a fee.
Zhou Chen bought some fruits and drinks and took a taxi to the river. A shop called "Fishing for Happiness" caught his eye. He went in and expressed his desire to rent fishing gear.
"Zhou Chen? Are you Zhou Chen? Oh my god, you're Zhou Chen! I'm a fan of yours!"
