ABCFWGR Chapter 133: This is Too Much
“Do not accept any reservations for the surrounding private rooms tonight. Mr. Tan has important guests to entertain.”
“Also, the vegetarian dishes must be natural, the meat dishes must be fresh, and everything must be of the highest quality. Additionally, the alcohol should come from Mr. Tan’s cellar, using the old wine he has been collecting for twenty years.”
“I will personally supervise everything. Anyone who dares to mess up will have to answer to me!”
Upon learning that Gu Chen was hosting guests, Tan Bafang took it very seriously and immediately sent his trusted aide to make arrangements.
This person was none other than the man with the duckbill hat who had kidnapped He Yuan last time, Tan Bafang’s right-hand man, Han Lie.
The kidnapping of He Yuan was supposed to be a chance for him to shine in front of Mr. Tan and Mr. Gu. Unexpectedly, it backfired and ended in failure, making him feel very guilty. Fortunately, Mr. Gu did not pursue the matter. This time, he was determined to perform well.
Around eight o’clock.
Ou Wancheng arrived with Ou Ya for the banquet, half an hour earlier than the nine o’clock set by Gu Chen. This was even after Ou Ya had delayed as much as she could. Otherwise, Ou Wancheng would have arrived at least two hours early.
At nine o’clock, Gu Chen arrived punctually at Xiushui Villa, not a minute early or late. He was a very punctual person.
“Mr. Gu, you’re here.”
Han Lie had been waiting at the door for a while. When he saw Gu Chen get out of the car, he hurriedly went up to greet him and explained, “Mr. Tan is not in Lin’an. He specifically instructed me to handle the reception. If you need anything, just let me know.”
Tan Bafang had already explained over the phone, so Gu Chen nodded, “Let’s talk inside.”
“Please!” Han Lie quickly bowed and gestured for him to enter.
At the entrance of the private room, Han Lie said again, “Mr. Gu, to ensure privacy, I did not arrange for any waiters. However, I am in the room opposite, so if you need anything, just call.”
It was clear that he wanted to impress Gu Chen. Gu Chen could see this and patted his shoulder, “Good job, you’re very attentive.”
“Mr. Gu, you flatter me. As long as you’re satisfied.” Han Lie was greatly encouraged.
Gu Chen didn’t say more. Han Lie, with a keen eye, opened the door for him and gently closed it after he entered.
Inside the private room, Ou Wancheng quickly stood up and cupped his hands, “Mr. Gu, we meet again.”
Gu Chen didn’t look at him but instead focused on Ou Ya, who was still sitting, with a meaningful smile on his lips.
Ou Wancheng panicked and kicked Ou Ya under the table, “Seeing Mr. Gu, why aren’t you greeting him? Since when have you become so rude?”
Only then did Ou Ya reluctantly stand up and casually greet, “Mr. Gu.”
Gu Chen then turned to Ou Wancheng and said, “No need for formalities, sit down.”
Ou Ya rolled her eyes. If this is considered “no need for formalities,” does that mean I can’t sit down if I don’t stand up?
Whether he saw through her thoughts or it was unintentional, Gu Chen glanced at her again.
Sensing the danger, Ou Ya quickly sat up straight and looked away guiltily.
“Pour wine for Mr. Gu,” Ou Wancheng said at the right moment.
“Grandpa, he has hands. Why should I pour wine for him?” Ou Ya complained in a low voice.
“Nonsense, don’t forget we have something to ask of him!” Ou Wancheng glared at her.
Ou Ya took a deep breath, forced a smile, and carried the treasured aged wine from Tan Bafang towards Gu Chen.
“Mr. Gu, please.”
After pouring the wine, Ou Ya said indifferently.
Unexpectedly, as soon as she finished speaking, Gu Chen picked up the cup and poured the wine on the ground.
“You…”
Ou Ya was furious and almost cursed.
Gu Chen glanced at her sideways and said lightly, "The first cup is to honor Heaven and Earth. Is there anything wrong with that?"
"No, nothing wrong at all!" Ou Ya almost gritted her teeth as she spoke.
"Thud!"
Gu Chen slowly put down his cup, tapped his fingers on the table, and said, "Fill it up."
Ou Ya glared at him and refilled the cup.
She thought Gu Chen would let her go this time, but to her surprise, he poured the second cup onto the ground as well.
"Don't go too far!"
Ou Ya was trembling with anger. If her grandfather hadn't been watching, she would have left in a huff.
Ou Wancheng sipped his tea calmly, as if he hadn’t seen anything.
"The second cup is to honor the sun, moon, and stars. Is there anything wrong with that?"
Gu Chen leisurely put down the cup again and tapped the table, signaling her to pour more wine. He added, "If you’re not happy with this, the door is over there. You can leave anytime."
Ou Ya looked back at her grandfather. She knew he wouldn’t stand up for her. With eyes reddening, she angrily refilled Gu Chen's cup. "Let's see what you'll toast to this time. Are you going to honor all the gods in the sky?"
Unexpectedly, Gu Chen picked up the cup, looked at Ou Wancheng, and said, "Mr. Ou, this cup is for you."
He then gave Ou Ya a sidelong glance.
Ou Ya's eyes blazed with fury. He was clearly doing this to spite her.
"Mr. Gu, you are too kind." Ou Wancheng quickly raised his cup, making sure to keep it lower than Gu Chen's, showing his humility.
Gu Chen accepted it as his due and drank it down with him.
Both of them clicked their tongues after the drink, and Gu Chen, seemingly on purpose, made a loud clicking sound before tapping the table again.
"My grandfather’s cup is empty too. I should refill his first."
Ou Ya seized the excuse, unwilling to let Gu Chen bully her further. If she let him continue, she would never regain her dignity.
"No need, no need. You just sit beside Mr. Gu and pour for him. I can take care of myself." Ou Wancheng said as he picked up another pot of wine and filled his own cup.
Then, he handed all of Ou Ya’s utensils over.
Ou Ya’s eyes were red, and she hesitated to take them.
This was too much. Even her grandfather was siding with him to bully her.
"Ahem!"
Ou Wancheng had to sternly say, "Don't make Mr. Gu laugh at us."
At this moment, Gu Chen gained a deeper understanding of Ou Wancheng.
The reason he was making things difficult for Ou Ya was not just to torment her but also to see how Ou Wancheng would react.
Although Ou Wancheng didn't handle it flawlessly, he was definitely not as simple as he appeared.
"Clang~"
Ou Ya took the utensils angrily and placed them down heavily.
However, Gu Chen acted as if he hadn't seen it, still tapping the table for more wine.
"Drink, drink till you die."
Ou Ya muttered curses under her breath.
"Slap!"
Without any hesitation, Gu Chen slapped her on the butt.
In an instant, Ou Ya's eyes widened in disbelief, her face turning red as if it could bleed. She clenched her fists, barely stopping herself from hitting Gu Chen.
"Pour the wine."
Gu Chen, seemingly unfazed, said lightly, "Curse me again, and I guarantee you’ll regret it."
Across the table, a flicker of emotion passed through Ou Wancheng's eyes.
Although he hid it well, Gu Chen's sharp eyes caught it. He thought to himself, "Let’s see how long you can endure this."
Ou Ya stood still, her chest heaving, on the brink of losing control.
